…Bun (#182) A raw-mode program turns mouse reporting on, as Claude Code's fullscreen view does: xterm takes the mode (the arrow, not the text caret), a key and a click reach it as an SGR press and release. Under Node and under Bun, Claude Code's runtime. It passes on main: the caret in Claude Code (#182) was Claude Code's own fullscreen auto-disable, not the terminal. mouseReport: a raw-mode program turns mouse reporting on (?1049h ?1000h ?1002h ?1006h), as Claude Code's fullscreen view does, and prints every byte it is sent. Run under Node and under Bun (Claude Code's runtime). Measured:.xterm.enable-mouse-events, the pointer isdefault, not the text caret;It passes on main (10/10). So the caret the owner sees in Claude Code is not the terminal: Claude Code had auto-disabled its fullscreen TUI after repeated failed starts (
fullscreenAutoDisabledin~/.claude.json, 7 strikes, 2026-10-11 10:14, during the #180 investigation), and without fullscreen it never asks for the mouse. Details on #182;/tui fullscreenturns it back on.This holds the terminal's side for good. Test only, no app change.
