Updates aws-lc-rs from 1.18.2 to 1.19.0

Release notes

Sourced from aws-lc-rs's releases.

aws-lc-rs v1.19.0

What's Changed

  • Add AES OFB, CFB8, and CFB1 modes by @lokeswarivejju in aws/aws-lc-rs#1259
    • Adds OperatingMode::OFB, OperatingMode::CFB8, and OperatingMode::CFB1 for AES-128, AES-192, and AES-256 through both the one-shot and streaming cipher APIs.
  • Add an on-demand AWS-LC self-test API by @Elvrarin in aws/aws-lc-rs#1262
    • Adds aws_lc_rs::try_fips_self_test(), allowing applications to re-run all AWS-LC cryptographic algorithm self-tests without calling the sys crate through unsafe FFI. This does not re-run the module integrity test.
  • Add Keccak-256 digest support behind "unstable" feature flag by @fabrice102 in aws/aws-lc-rs#1266
    • Adds aws_lc_rs::unstable::digest::KECCAK256 and KECCAK256_OUTPUT_LEN behind the unstable feature for use with the existing digest::digest and digest::Context APIs.
  • Add configurable RSA-PSS salt lengths by @PaulDance in aws/aws-lc-rs#1267
    • Adds RsaPssSaltLength::{Digest, Max, Custom} and with_pss_salt_length builders on RsaSignatureEncoding and RsaParameters, covering signing and verification for both message and precomputed-digest APIs.
  • Implement Clone for signing key pairs by @JakeHuneau in aws/aws-lc-rs#1277
    • rsa::KeyPair, EcdsaKeyPair, Ed25519KeyPair, and PqdsaKeyPair can now be cloned directly rather than wrapped in an Arc.
    • Clones share the immutable, reference-counted EVP_PKEY; key material is not duplicated, and a clone remains usable after the original is dropped.

Upstream AWS-LC

  • aws-lc-sys v0.47.0 aligns with AWS-LC v5.12.0 (previously v5.11.0).
  • aws-lc-fips-sys v0.14.4 updates its bundled AWS-LC FIPS 4.2.0 snapshot with recent FIPS 4.x backports.

Build Improvements

  • Lower the minimum system-installed AWS-LC version to 4.2.0 by @justsmth in aws/aws-lc-rs#1268
    • The default aws-lc-sys system-library path now accepts AWS-LC 4.2.0 or newer, previously 5.7.0, allowing use of a FIPS 4.x system library.
    • Enabling the unstable feature requires AWS-LC 5.7.0 or newer because unstable APIs currently include Keccak-256. Bundled-source builds are unaffected.
  • Share cc compiler detection across builds by @johncarmack1984 in aws/aws-lc-rs#1273
    • Reuses compiler detection results across the main library build and compiler feature probes, reducing repeated compiler invocations during cold builds.

Changelog:

Unreleased

  • Added zero-copy IGMP support (IGMPv1, IGMPv2 & IGMPv3):
    • IgmpSlice, an enum with one zero-copy variant per message type (MembershipQuery, MembershipQueryWithSources, MembershipReportV1, MembershipReportV2, MembershipReportV3, LeaveGroup & Unknown), plus common accessors (header, payload, slice, checksum, is_checksum_valid).
    • Per-variant slice types (MembershipQuerySlice, MembershipQueryWithSourcesSlice, MembershipReportV1Slice, MembershipReportV2Slice, MembershipReportV3Slice, LeaveGroupSlice & IgmpUnknownSlice) with typed field accessors. Variable-length data is exposed where it exists: MembershipReportV3Slice::group_records and MembershipQueryWithSourcesSlice::source_addresses / source_addrs_bytes (no longer Option-returning).
    • ReportGroupRecordV3Slice & ReportGroupRecordV3SliceIter for iterating IGMPv3 group records (incl. typed source_addresses).
    • Integrated IGMP into the transport layer parsing & building:
      • New enum variants TransportSlice::Igmp, TransportHeader::Igmp, PayloadSlice::Igmp & LaxPayloadSlice::Igmp.
      • SlicedPacket, LaxSlicedPacket, PacketHeaders & LaxPacketHeaders now decode ip_number::IGMP payloads.
      • PacketBuilder gained igmp & igmp_header setters and IgmpHeader::write.

0.15.0

  • Added Linux SLL Support (thanks to @RabadanDotDev)
  • Corrected bug where SlicedPacket::from_ether_type would not set link field in result.

0.14.3

  • Resolved compile errors for 16 bit systems.
  • Add 'ether_payload' & 'ip_payload' methods to SlicedPacket types.

0.14.2

Corrected enum docs.rs links in README.md (for IpSlice & IpHeaders).

0.14.1

Corrected example in README.md (replaced ip with net).

0.14.0

Highlights

  • SlicedPacket & PacketHeaders now use the length fields in the headers to determine the payload length.
  • The payload(s) in SlicedPacket now can be accessed via the layer slices (e.g. link.unwrap().payload()).
  • Added LaxSlicedPacket & LaxPacketHeaders to allow for parsing of packets without length checks & other inconsistency checks present in SlicedPacket & PacketHeaders.
  • SlicedPacket.ip & PacketHeaders.ip have been renamed to SlicedPacket.net & PacketHeaders.net
  • Added no_std support.
  • Errors are now more fine granular (in case you want a general error type you can convert all errors via into & from into err::FromSliceError or err::ReadError).
  • Added to_bytes() methods to most header types.
  • Added slice types which contain both the header(s) and payload (e.g. IpSlice, UdpSlice).
  • Added payload types (e.g. IpPayloadSlice, EtherPayloadSlice) which contain the slice & information about the payload type (e.g. the IpNumber in case of an IpPayloadSlice).

What happened?

This version took more then a year to complete. Which for sure was not my plan when starting out.

I started out trying to implement correct handing of "payload lengths" (aka actually using the length fields in headers to determine the payload). This was needed, as without it, incorrect data would sometimes creep into the payload of and IP packet (see JulianSchmid/etherparse#35 ). But this "simple" feature triggered a chain reaction of changes that required me to re-architect big parts of the crate. Specifically the error types were an major issue, which I did not forsee costing so much time and at some time.

Updates hmac from 0.12.1 to 0.13.0

Commits

Updates httpmock from 0.8.3 to 0.9.0

Release notes

Sourced from httpmock's releases.

v0.9.0

The crate was upgraded to the Rust 2024 edition. The minimum supported Rust version remains 1.88.

Breaking changes

  • server::matchers is now crate-private (#312). Its matcher, comparator and reader types are implementation details rather than a supported extension API; there is no replacement public path. Custom predicates remain possible with When::is_true.
  • The body helpers is_blank, contains_str, contains_slice and contains_vec were removed (#246). Use request.body_string().contains(".."), which also works inside respond_with, or request.body_ref().windows(n).any(|w| w == b"..") with a non-empty needle, and When::body_includes when matching.
  • HttpMockRequest::query_params_map() was removed (#246). Collect query_params() instead: let params: HashMap<String, String> = request.query_params().into_iter().collect(); keeps the last value for duplicate keys, as the removed method did. query_params() has returned Vec<(String, String)> since 0.8.2.
  • The MockExt trait was removed and Mock's public id field is now private (#285). Remove MockExt imports and replace direct mock.id field access with mock.id(). Mock::new(id, &server) is unchanged.
  • The mock server only accepts cleartext HTTP/2 connections (prior knowledge, as gRPC clients send it) when the http2 cargo feature is enabled (#297). Previously this worked without the feature. It fails at runtime, not at compile time: the client sees the connection closed after the preface and the server logs "invalid HTTP version parsed (found HTTP2 preface)". Enable http2 to keep serving such clients; standalone and the Docker image already include it. HTTPS via ALPN is unaffected, as h2 was already only offered with the feature enabled. The crate also no longer enables tokio/signal or hyper/http2 for other crates in the build, so a crate that relied on that has to enable them itself.
  • server::state::MockServerState and server::state::HttpMockStateManager are now crate-private (#289, #326). Neither could be used from outside the crate beyond constructing it; code using the MockServer API is unaffected.
  • The empty experimental Cargo feature was removed (#316). Remove it from your dependency's feature list; it did not enable any functionality.
  • The Docker image now uses a slim Debian runtime without the Rust toolchain or source tree (#202, 1231c63). curl and wget are no longer installed, so healthchecks that call them need another probe: an httpGet probe against /__httpmock__/ping, or from inside the container bash -c 'exec 3<>/dev/tcp/127.0.0.1/5050'. The CA files are no longer in the image either; use certs/ca.pem from the repository or server::DEFAULT_CA_CERTIFICATE. The executable is now at /usr/local/bin/httpmock, with a compatibility symlink at /usr/local/cargo/bin/httpmock so existing absolute paths continue to work.
  • The tls-detect cargo feature was removed

Updates parking_lot from 0.12.5 to 0.13.0

Release notes

Sourced from parking_lot's releases.

parking_lot-v0.13.0

  • Signficantly improved Mutex and RwLock performance under contention by deferring waking up parked threads until after the lock is released. (#545)
  • Added per-acquisition state to lock_api raw locks. RawMutex::Guard replaces GuardMarker; rwlocks have separate SharedGuard, ExclusiveGuard, and UpgradableGuard types. Unlock operations consume this state, while upgrade and downgrade operations return replacement state. Bump and raw condition-variable waits borrow and update the state. Consuming operations must release their acquisition on unwind; borrowing operations must restore ownership and valid state, or abort if restoration fails. (#544)
  • Raised the MSRV to Rust 1.95 and upgraded all crates to edition 2024. (#533)
  • Removed the hardware-lock-elision feature. (#533)
  • Removed automatic eventual fairness. Fair unlocking remains available through the explicit fair-unlock APIs. This removes UnparkResult::be_fair. (#533)
  • Removed the no-op lock_api/nightly feature. (#533)
  • Removed the legacy lock_api const_new methods and the redundant parking_lot const_* constructor functions; the corresponding new methods can be called in constant contexts. (#533)
  • Replaced the recursive read methods on RwLock with a dedicated reader-biased RecursiveRwLock type. The RawRwLockRecursive and RawRwLockRecursiveTimed extension traits have been removed from lock_api. (#533)
  • Added Once::new_completed for constructing a Once in the completed state. (#520)
  • Added Once::{is_completed, wait, wait_force} and the corresponding OnceState query methods. (#533)
  • Made additional lock, timeout, parking, and spin-wait accessors usable in constant contexts. (#533)
  • Added into_inner_with_raw to lock_api's Mutex, RwLock, and ReentrantMutex. (#524)
  • Added RawCondvar, RawCondvarTimed, and the generic Condvar wrapper to lock_api, and implemented parking_lot::Condvar using them. Custom raw condition variables may allow spurious wakeups; their notification methods must then return false or 0. parking_lot::Condvar still guarantees no spurious wakeups and exact notification counts. (#523) (#533)
  • Corrected the Send and Sync bounds of lock guards in lock_api. (#533)
  • Made RawMutex::is_locked and RawRwLock::{is_locked, is_locked_exclusive} required methods. (#533)
  • Renamed MappedRwLockReadGuard::try_map_or_else to try_map_or_err. (#533)
  • Clarified the safety requirements of raw lock implementations, including acquire/release synchronization, moving or dropping a locked raw lock, preserving the original lock mode on a failed upgrade, and stable thread IDs. Acquisitions may unwind without leaving a new acquisition held; consuming guard operations release their acquisition on unwind, while bump and wait operations must restore ownership or abort. (#533) (#544)
  • Clarified the aliasing requirements of unsafe raw-access, force-unlock, and guard-construction APIs in lock_api. (#533)
  • Guard unlocked and unlocked_fair operations now abort if re-locking panics. Default raw-lock bump implementations also abort if re-locking panics. (#533)
  • Guard with_upgraded operations abort if raw upgrading or downgrading panics, preserving continuous lock ownership. (#544)
  • Parking-lot operations in parking_lot_core are now guaranteed to never unwind. (#533)
  • Documented that parking-lot-based synchronization primitives must not be used
