Excuse me for interrupting, but are you sure that the new pair of functions split_barrier_arrive/split_barrier_wait is being introduced, and not controlBarrierArrive/controlBarrierWait? And should they map to OpControlBarrier, rather than OpControlBarrierArriveEXT and OpControlBarrierWaitEXT?

No, I am waiting for confirmation from Ralph. I believe that the conclusion from the recent meeting was that this would be discussed at a legal meeting on Friday (I incorrectly said, above, that it was going to be today).

The legal meeting didn't happen for schedule reasons, but that was to address more general questions. Since we have explicit agreement on this one above, I believe it's fine to merge.
