Hi @GKid94, the reason for this may be that you're halving the original video resolution, making it impossible to not lose quality. Please try setting the resolution back to 720p.
Furthermore, if a video is already very low bit rate (Settings > General > Show Bitrate to see it), it's simply not possible to compress it any further without losing quality. This may be the case if the video was downloaded from a social media platform, which already heavily compresses videos.

Hi @GKid94, I haven't heard anything from you yet, so I'm closing this issue. Please respond if you'd like me to re-open it.

It lowered the resolution automatically when I chosed the 25MB option. I didn't do it manually.
JoshAtticus commentedon Nov 2, 2026
The upcoming release of Compressor should improve the automatic adjustment algorithm. Furthermore, can you please confirm whether the quality issues happen when you manually set the resolution back to the original?
GKid94 commentedon Nov 2, 2026
It won't allow me to keep original resolution.
JoshAtticus commentedon Nov 3, 2026
Please enable bitrate in Settings > General > Show Bitrate and share the bitrate of the original video

The issue here is that the original bitrate of the video is simply too low to compress further while retaining quality. This means the video has already been compressed, and unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it.

Any other options maybe? Like Freeconvert.com and Panda video compressor.
