Motivation

  • Make the repository easier to use as a practical, business-situation-driven design-pattern playbook so readers can pick a pattern quickly for real engineering problems.
  • Speed onboarding by surfacing a short guided reading flow from pattern selection to runnable examples and tests.
  • Provide a compact decision aid (shortlist + validation checks) that helps engineers narrow options before diving into implementation.

Description

  • Rewrote the README introduction to position the project as a pattern-selection playbook and clarify the primary user question the repo answers.
  • Added a Start here (recommended reading flow) section that guides readers from the pattern matrix to docs, example packages, tests, and the pattern starter template.
  • Added a Quick pattern-selection playbook with short prompts for common business needs and a three-check validation method (Fit, Cost, Evolvability).
  • Moved phase links into a dedicated Phase roadmap section and preserved the existing pattern matrix and test references; the only modified file is README.md.

Testing

  • Attempted to run mvn -q -DskipTests verify to validate the repo, but the run failed due to dependency/plugin resolution errors (Maven Central returned HTTP 403) in this environment.
  • This is a documentation-only change (README.md), so no functional tests were required or altered as part of the change.
