Compatibility, migration implications, and follow-ups:

Cross-checked the site against the CV (Overleaf) and the January 2026 P&T
dossier, and against Google Scholar for publication currency.

Research page: reorganized around the two themes from the candidate's
statement -- certification-driven conceptual design, and vehicle-operations
co-design -- with each theme linking to the projects that carry it. The
existing MDAO, multifidelity, reliability, and MBSE material is kept as the
shared methods layer beneath both.

Publications: added the two 2015 papers the CV lists but the site omitted
(IFToMM world congress, iNaCoMM). Corrected three journal years from 2021 to
2022, matching the volume/issue and the dossier. Google Scholar confirms
nothing newer is missing.

People: full roster of 24 mentees, grouped by level (Ph.D., M.S., B.S., high
school) within current members and alumni, with alumni destinations for the
high school students. Eleven mentees on the CV were absent from the site;
Aman Anwar already appeared as a co-author in the news but not on the roster.

Service: peer-reviewed journals 5 -> 11, matching the CV. AiMT IOC corrected
to founding member.

Teaching: enrollment, team counts, and external mentor rosters per offering;
Project SPEAR's 3rd place in the 2025 AIAA Undergraduate Team Aircraft Design
Competition; and the two NASA Capstone for Space Grant selections.

New project page for aerial firefighting, the motivating application for the
co-design theme, which had no page to link to.

Ongoing work is now six top-level projects, each listing its subprojects and
the student leading them:

  1. Certification-Driven Aircraft Design under Uncertainty
advanced visualization (Tien Nguyen), multifidelity ROMs (Khushi
       Piparava), MBSE-MDAO integration
  2. Advancing Regional Air Mobility in Appalachia
       door-to-door mobility framework (Grant Lee)
  3. Virtual Integrated Testing & Analysis Laboratory (VITAL) [new]
       aircraft flight simulator (Krish Bhatt)
  4. Ship Conceptual Design using MDAO
ship design optimization and dynamics (Jeremy John)
  5. Autonomous Battery Units (ABUs) [new]
       SPA2D long-range tracking (Khoa Nguyen), design-build-fly tiltrotor
       eVTOL (Ferris Barghouty)
  6. Aerial Firefighting
       mission engineering (Katherine Lemke)

Advanced visualization was previously its own ongoing project; its page and
figures are kept and its URL is unchanged, but it is recategorized so it no
longer appears as a seventh card.

VITAL, ABU, and ship pages are written from the source documents rather than
from the project titles alone: the VITAL white paper (Sarojini and Jaworski),
the SPA2D manuscript, and the OCEANS 2026 ship MDO paper. Two earlier drafts
were wrong and are corrected here -- VITAL is a regulator-controlled
pre-certification environment supporting certification-informed-by-analysis,
not an in-house simulation lab, and SPA2D is a track-before-detect framework
for few-pixel aerial targets, not multiplication-free neural inference.

Research page updated for the renamed projects, with VITAL added to the
certification theme and ABUs to the co-design theme.

VITAL: reframed as a Virginia Tech capability for
certification-informed-by-analysis. The regulator-specific framing is removed
and the roles are described generically as evaluator and design team, which
preserves the concept's defining separation of control without naming an
agency. Credits VT College of Engineering Major Grant Initiatives support.

ABUs: rewritten from the SciTech 2026 full paper. An ABU is rotors, an
attitude determination and control system, and a battery array in a chassis
that attaches and detaches in flight, addressing both energy-storage problems
electric aircraft face -- too little stored energy, and the fact that a battery
unlike fuel does not shed mass as it depletes. Adds the four-mode concept of
operations and the quantified benefits, and adds eVTOLpy as a subproject.
SPA2D is marked work in progress rather than under review.

Advanced visualization: rewritten from the Web3D 2026 paper, naming the
OpenVSP / VSPAERO / Blender / ParaView / X3DOM pipeline and the capstone
deployment, and linking it to VITAL's information-rich visualization
environment.

Ship MDAO: OCEANS 2026 marked accepted, and Ryan Coe identified as Associate
Professor in AOE at Virginia Tech.

Three works were described on project pages but absent from papers.bib, so
they did not appear under publications:

- Anem, Enwiya, Sandbrook, Sarojini, Polys. Interactive Web-Based
Visualization for Aircraft Multidisciplinary Design, Analysis, and
  Exploration. Web3D 2026. Accepted.
- John, Coe, Sarojini. Optimization of Ships with Coupled Resistance,
Propulsion, and Maneuvering Analysis. OCEANS 2026. Accepted.
- Nguyen, Sarojini, Denby. SPA2D: Shift-Plus-Add for Long-Range Aerial Target
  Tracking. To be submitted.

Status is carried in the bibtex note field, which the theme's bib layout
renders alongside the entry.
