This is the web IDE for the weekly HackClub hosted by Manchester Mesivta For technical setup details, see below.
If you have a feature idea or something you want to add, fork this repo into your account and add your feature. After committing your changes and pushing, create a pull request to the 'dev' branch. While in local development, you might want to remove the auth layer. Make sure to add it back in when making a pull request.
This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app.
Copy .env.example to .env.local and fill in the Supabase project URL, service-role key, and a random SESSION_SECRET. Run the SQL in supabase/schema.sql in the same Supabase project. On a project that still has the old username/password users table, run supabase/migrate-to-code-login.sql instead.
There is no registration page. The admin creates users directly in Supabase and hands each student their 4-digit code in person:
- In the Supabase SQL editor run
select create_club_user('name');— it inserts the user and returns a random 4-digit code, or - insert a
usersrow in the Table editor and leavecodeempty — a random code is generated automatically.
To re-check a student's code later: select username, code from users order by created_at;
Students enter just the code on the sign-in page. Everything they make (projects, files, AI chats) is saved to their account.
The service-role key is server-only. Do not commit .env.local or expose that key in browser code.
First, run the development server:
npm run dev
# or
yarn dev
# or
pnpm dev
# or
bun devOpen http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.
You can start editing the page by modifying app/page.tsx. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.
This project uses next/font to automatically optimize and load Geist, a new font family for Vercel.
