# fluid-bridge

Unofficial Python bindings for [FluidAudio](https://github.com/FluidInference/FluidAudio)'s
macOS command-line interface.
A small, unofficial Python adapter for the
[FluidAudio](https://github.com/FluidInference/FluidAudio) macOS command-line interface.

FluidAudio is a Swift SDK for local audio AI on Apple devices. Upstream FluidAudio includes
ASR/transcription, text-to-speech, voice activity detection, speaker diarization, speaker
embeddings/identification, offline and streaming modes, and ANE/CoreML execution.
It is a hobby project built to make FluidAudio easier to call from Python without embedding Swift
or Rust in the Python process. It is maintained on a best-effort basis and is not affiliated with
Fluid Inference.

`fluid-bridge` is intentionally thin: it lets Python projects call FluidAudio's official CLI without
embedding Swift or Rust in the Python runtime. The first public release focuses on CLI execution and
conservative result handling; future releases may add an optional Rust/PyO3 backend over
[`fluidaudio-rs`](https://github.com/FluidInference/fluidaudio-rs).

The support contract is complete **CLI transport parity**, not a duplicate implementation of the
FluidAudio Swift SDK. See the [full capability matrix](docs/CAPABILITIES.md) and
[validation guide](docs/VALIDATION.md).
The bridge stays deliberately thin: it runs the separate FluidAudio CLI, preserves its output and
exit status, and adds conservative Python and command-line helpers. See the
[capability matrix](docs/CAPABILITIES.md) and [validation guide](docs/VALIDATION.md) for the detailed
behavior.
