fix(plugin): wait for Codex stdin probe readiness - #2099
Conversation

Probe readiness and result synchronization plugin/codex_unix_user_prompt_test.go |
The test harness adds a readiness marker and bounded waits for probe readiness and result publication. The probe reads stdin and publishes its result after the release marker is created. |
Probe input and startup scenarios plugin/codex_unix_user_prompt_test.go |
Tests cover delayed startup, EOF, terminated and unterminated inherited input, and an open pipe that does not publish a result before EOF. |

Explanation
[
#2091] The reviewed test code waits forPROMPT_STDIN_READYwith a 10-second startup budget before it starts the one-second result budget. The probe writes readiness immediately beforeread -r. The observer treats a timeout as an error and requires the exacteofresult. The test keeps the parent stdin pipe open and checks adapter exit. The inherited-input tests cover terminated data, unterminated data, and an open pipe. The delayed-startup test exceeds the former one-second window. The PR reports passing focused and affected-package tests. No Windows skip or deadline-only workaround is present.

Explanation
The PR changes only
plugin/codex_unix_user_prompt_test.go. The helper changes, delayed-startup test, inherited-input cases, publication barrier checks, and Windows path normalization support the requirements in [#2091] or preserve the related#2072regression. No production code or unrelated test scope is included.

After integrating #2094, focused tests exposed backslash paths breaking the fixture's Bash parent-directory check; normalizing the release path fixed that failure without increasing EOF deadlines. The final results above include both merged fixes.

type:*label selected:type:bug.Co-Authored-Bytrailers.💬 Notes for Reviewers
The original observer budget included project resolution, native identity resolution, and serialization before the stdin probe could start. This change separates that startup from EOF verification; a read timeout never counts as EOF. It does not claim a production stdin defect.
The existing empty-publication regression and result table remain intact. Only the test file changes: 145 additions, 49 deletions.
Risk: none — private test code only; no shared production code changed. Native assessment with RDD off required writer self-verification only; no native review approval is claimed.
