feat: Resilion.Http, Resilion.Chaos, and the public API freeze - #5
Added chaos strategies for injecting faults, latency, alternate outcomes, and custom behavior into resilience pipelines, with configurable injection rates and telemetry.
Added the Resilion.Chaos package and included it in release packaging.
Added options-based pipeline registration, pipeline invalidation, circuit-breaker state observation, configurable hedging delays, named pipelines, and predicate builders.
Event callbacks now accept lambdas, method groups, and async handlers directly.
Bug Fixes
Improved HTTP request replay, pipeline reload filtering and subscription cleanup, and hedging outcome telemetry.
Prevented pipeline replacement callback errors from disrupting execution.
Documentation
Added chaos strategy guidance and updated release, installation, migration, and configuration documentation.
This release adds the Resilion.Chaos package and its four injection strategies. It replaces the event-handler wrapper with a ValueTask-returning delegate and updates callback dispatch. It also changes HTTP request replay, pipeline reload filtering, registry notifications, hedging telemetry, public API records, tests, and release documentation.

Summary
Chaos options and project integration src/Resilion.Chaos/*, src/Resilion/Telemetry/ResilionTelemetry.cs, src/Resilion/Internal/*, src/Resilion/Resilion.csproj, Resilion.sln
Adds shared chaos settings, injection decisions, telemetry, strategy-order validation, and the Resilion.Chaos project and public API.
Chaos strategy registration and execution src/Resilion.Chaos/Chaos*Extensions.cs, src/Resilion.Chaos/Chaos*Strategy.cs, src/Resilion.Chaos/Chaos*StrategyOptions.cs
Adds behavior, fault, latency, and typed outcome strategies with synchronous and asynchronous execution paths, option validation, callbacks, and convenience overloads.
Adds strategy, ordering, and telemetry tests. Documents the package and adds it to the NuGet release project list.
Event-handler delegate migration
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Delegate contract and synchronous invocation src/Resilion/ResilienceEventHandler.cs, src/Resilion/PublicAPI.*
Replaces the wrapper struct with a ValueTask-returning delegate and adds InvokeSync, which handles incomplete handlers and synchronization contexts.
Strategy callback dispatch and samples src/Resilion/{CircuitBreaker,Fallback,Hedging,Retry,Timeout}/*, src/Resilion.RateLimiting/*, samples/Resilion.Samples/*
Updates callback invocation to use the delegate directly or through InvokeSync. Sample callbacks return default when completing synchronously.
Callback tests and guidance tests/Resilion.Tests/*, tests/Resilion.Http.Tests/TypedStrategyBindingTests.cs, README.md, docs/*
Updates callback tests and examples for direct lambdas, method groups, and async lambdas. Adds tests for inline execution, completion, exceptions, and synchronization-context behavior.
Pipeline, HTTP, and release updates
Layer / File(s)
Summary
HTTP request replay and handler configuration src/Resilion.Http/Internal/ResilienceHandler.cs, src/Resilion.Http/ResilionHttpClientBuilderExtensions.cs, tests/Resilion.Http.Tests/*, docs/http.md
Restores caller request references around cloned-request disposal and caches replay-mode resolution across handler creation. Regression tests cover request references and configuration delegate calls.
Options reload and registry notifications src/Resilion.Extensions/ResilionServiceCollectionExtensions.cs, src/Resilion.Extensions/ResiliencePipelineRegistry.cs, tests/Resilion.Extensions.Tests/*
Filters reload notifications by configured options name, normalizing null names to the default. Registry replacement callbacks catch exceptions and write them to debug output.
API records and release updates src/Resilion.Extensions/PublicAPI.*, src/Resilion.Http/PublicAPI.*, src/Resilion/PublicAPI.*, docs/*, CHANGELOG.md, benchmarks/*, SECURITY.md, Resilion.sln
Updates shipped API declarations and release documentation. Also updates hedging outcome telemetry, benchmark setup and results, retry-count descriptions, security support policy, and related tests.

Assert that the callback receives the live request.
Content.Headers.ContentLength can return a stored value after disposal. The current assertion can therefore pass with the disposed clone. Assert request identity instead.
Suggested fix
var request = args.Context.GetRequestMessage();
- // Touching the content is what surfaces a disposed message.- _ = request?.Content?.Headers.ContentLength;+ Assert.Same(message, request);
observed.Add(null);

Make the default custom replay mode safe for hedging.
AddResilienceHandler defaults custom pipelines to ReuseRequest, although those pipelines can add hedging. Parallel hedged attempts then pass the same HttpRequestMessage to base.SendAsync. A non-seekable StreamContent can therefore be consumed by one attempt before the other sends it.
Change the custom-handler defaults to CloneRequest. This makes SendCoreAsync buffer the body before the pipeline and gives each overlapping attempt an independent request. Do not change only SendAttemptAsync; ReuseRequest does not create a buffer, so that change cannot safely clone the request.
Explicit ReuseRequest remains an opt-in for callers that accept its documented replayability requirements.
