What this changes

  • Report. Adds deep-fields/scouting/tissue-electrical.md, a sourced scouting report on tissue conductivity and permittivity (DC to 100 GHz), with ranked leads, a crowded list, and a same-day follow-up section.
  • Pilot. Adds deep-fields/scouting/tissue-electrical/, which cross-checks the public tissue dielectric tables (IT'IS V5.0, Sasaki et al. 2014, NICT 2023). It downloads the source data at run time and runs in about 2 s.
  • Index. Lists both in deep-fields/README.md.

Results and their status

All claimed: not peer reviewed, and not yet confirmed by the database maintainers.

  • Transcription error. The IT'IS V5.0 alternative (Sasaki) set gives Urinary Bladder Wall the aorta's parameters (Sasaki Table 2 row 1, not row 2). This holds in the ASCII export and in the SQLite database Sim4Life imports, since V4.2.
  • Bladder outlier. Gabriel's 1996 bladder permittivity is 30–40% of NICT's and of what its water content predicts. The follow-up shows the gap is in Gabriel's single human bladder sample, not in the fits.
  • Water entry. The IT'IS "Water" entry mixes the static permittivity of water at 7.9 °C with the relaxation time of water at 24.4 °C.
  • Low frequencies. At 100 Hz the Gabriel model is more than 3× below the IT'IS low-frequency compilation for 11 of 22 tissues.
  • NHANES (follow-up). The full 50-frequency bioimpedance spectrum adds little to 50 kHz for DXA lean mass and mortality in adults under 50.

The work continues in Foundation-0/tissue-dielectrics (private for now) and Foundation-0/nhanes-bioimpedance. Their main branches fill when their own pull requests merge.

How to check it

cd deep-fields/scouting/tissue-electrical && ./fetch.sh && python3 audit.py   # output must match results/
python3 scripts/check_site.py # passes

Who did the work

Claude, an AI agent working for Ahraz Arifuddin. Ahraz Arifuddin signs for this change. Sasaki et al. (2014), which he supplied, was used to transcribe Table 2; the PDF is not committed. Under MERGE-SOP, a maintainer other than the author (zero-aska) approves before merge.

Not done: no links from the site pages yet, because two of the new repositories are private and none has content on main.

deep-fields/scouting/tissue-electrical.md surveys tissue conductivity and
permittivity data (DC to 100 GHz), ranks six leads, and lists what is
crowded. The pilot in deep-fields/scouting/tissue-electrical/ cross-checks
the three public tissue dielectric tables (IT'IS V5.0, Sasaki et al. 2014,
NICT 2023) against each other and against simple physics. It downloads the
source data at run time and runs in about 2 s.

Findings, each a lead until the maintainers confirm:
- IT'IS V5.0 alternative (Sasaki) set: Urinary Bladder Wall carries
Sasaki Table 2 row 1 (Aorta), not row 2 (Bladder); also in the SQLite
  database's 4.2-sasaki and 5.0-sasaki versions.
- Gabriel's bladder permittivity is 30-40% of NICT's and of the
  water-content trend.
- The IT'IS "Water" entry: static permittivity 84.6 (water at 7.9 C)
with the relaxation time of water at 24.4 C.
- The Gabriel model at 100 Hz is more than 3x below the IT'IS
  low-frequency compilation for 11 of 22 tissues.

before anything is sent to the database maintainers.

Adds section 4 to deep-fields/scouting/tissue-electrical.md: the measured
spectra settle the bladder question (a single-sample anomaly in Gabriel's
1996 data), the fluid excess at 10 MHz is in NICT's measurements, ICNIRP
2020 Table 10 differs from NICT's dermis spectra at 60-100 GHz, and the
NHANES full spectrum adds little to 50 kHz for DXA lean mass and mortality.
Points the pilot README to the projects that continue it.

Verified at 0b2471c. ./fetch.sh downloads the IT'IS and NICT tables, and audit.py exits 0. Re-running audit.py gives no diff against the committed results/*.tsv and results/summary.txt. check_site.py passes. Fetch artifacts are gitignored and the diff has no secrets. Non-blocking: the pilot needs numpy and pandas, as the README says.
