Explanation of Change

Adds a new help article for the INT133 Sage Intacct sync error. Sage Intacct returns PL04000076 ("This user is in the INACTIVE state") when the web services user that connects the Workspace is inactive. Today that case shows a generic message, which suggests Sage Intacct is temporarily down. A dedicated INT133 error and article will tell admins the real fix: reactivate the web services user in Sage Intacct.

The article is added for both New Expensify and Expensify Classic. Each copy lives in both Authentication-and-Login-errors/ and Sync-Errors/, the same way the INT122 article does. Sync error links point to the Sync-Errors/ path, so that copy is the one the in-product link will open.

The article quotes this error message, which the backend change for INT133 should match:

INT133 Sync Error: The Sage Intacct web services user is inactive. Please reactivate the user in Sage Intacct and attempt sync again.

The navigation path for the web services user is Company > Admin > Web Services users.

PROPOSAL:

Tests

// TODO: The human co-author must fill out the tests you ran before marking this PR as "ready for review"
// Please describe what tests you performed that validates your changed worked.

  • Verify that no errors appear in the JS console

Offline tests

QA Steps

// TODO: The human co-author must fill out the QA tests you ran before marking this PR as "ready for review".
// Please describe what QA needs to do to validate your changes and what areas do they need to test for regressions.

  • Verify that no errors appear in the JS console

PR Author Checklist

  • I linked the correct issue in the ### Fixed Issues section above
  • I wrote clear testing steps that cover the changes made in this PR
    • I added steps for local testing in the Tests section
    • I added steps for the expected offline behavior in the Offline steps section
    • I added steps for Staging and/or Production testing in the QA steps section
    • I added steps to cover failure scenarios (i.e. verify an input displays the correct error message if the entered data is not correct)
    • I turned off my network connection and tested it while offline to ensure it matches the expected behavior (i.e. verify the default avatar icon is displayed if app is offline)
    • I tested this PR with a High Traffic account against the staging or production API to ensure there are no regressions (e.g. long loading states that impact usability).
  • I included screenshots or videos for tests on all platforms
  • I ran the tests on all platforms & verified they passed on:
    • Android: Native
    • Android: mWeb Chrome
    • iOS: Native
    • iOS: mWeb Safari
    • MacOS: Chrome / Safari
  • I verified there are no console errors (if there's a console error not related to the PR, report it or open an issue for it to be fixed)
  • I verified any copy / text that was added to the app is either coming verbatim from figma or has been approved by marketing (in order to get marketing approval, ask the Bug Zero team member to add the Waiting for copy label to the issue)
  • If a new code pattern is added I verified it was agreed to be used by multiple Expensify engineers
  • I tested other components that can be impacted by my changes (i.e. if the PR modifies a shared library or component like Avatar, I verified the components using Avatar are working as expected)
  • If new assets were added or existing ones were modified, I verified that:
    • The assets are optimized and compressed (for SVG files, run npm run compress-svg)
    • The assets load correctly across all supported platforms.
  • If the PR modifies code that runs when editing or sending messages, I tested and verified there is no unexpected behavior for all supported markdown - URLs, single line code, code blocks, quotes, headings, bold, strikethrough, and italic.
  • If the PR modifies a generic component, I tested and verified that those changes do not break usages of that component in the rest of the App (i.e. if a shared library or component like Avatar is modified, I verified that Avatar is working as expected in all cases)
  • If the PR modifies a component related to any of the existing Storybook stories, I tested and verified all stories for that component are still working as expected.
  • If the PR modifies a component or page that can be accessed by a direct deeplink, I verified that the code functions as expected when the deeplink is used - from a logged in and logged out account.
  • If the PR modifies the UI (e.g. new buttons, new UI components, changing the padding/spacing/sizing, moving components, etc) or modifies the form input styles:
    • I verified that all the inputs inside a form are aligned with each other.
    • I added Design label and/or tagged @Expensify/design so the design team can review the changes.
  • If the PR adds or modifies the UI:
    • I asked an AI agent to review the changes for accessibility issues and addressed its findings.
    • I tested with a screen reader (VoiceOver on macOS) and verified all new/changed elements are reachable with a logical focus order.
    • I verified all new/changed elements have meaningful accessible names and roles.
    • I verified state changes are announced (e.g. checked/unchecked, expanded/collapsed, selected).
  • I added unit tests for any new feature or bug fix in this PR to help automatically prevent regressions in this user flow.
  • If the main branch was merged into this PR after a review, I tested again and verified the outcome was still expected according to the Test steps.

Thanks. I updated step 2 to Company > Admin > Web Services users in all four INT133 articles:

  • New Expensify: Sync-Errors/ and Authentication-and-Login-errors/
  • Expensify Classic: Sync-Errors/ and Authentication-and-Login-errors/

I also updated the path in the PR description.

HelpDot Documentation Review

Overall Assessment
This PR adds a new help article for the Sage Intacct INT133 sync error (inactive web services user) across four files: New Expensify and Expensify Classic, each duplicated under both Authentication-and-Login-errors/ and Sync-Errors/ (mirroring the existing INT122 pattern). The content is well-scoped to a single workflow, has strong YAML metadata, and reads clearly. The main gaps are heading capitalization (title case instead of sentence case), a forbidden level-3 heading in the Classic copies, and UI-verb/terminology compliance (Click vs select, capitalized Workspace).

Scores Summary

  • Readability: 8/10 - Clear, scannable, logical flow with concise procedural steps and a focused FAQ. Quoting the literal error message up top is helpful.
  • AI Readiness: 8/10 - Excellent metadata (title, description, keywords, internalScope), full feature names, single H1 plus FAQ, task-based H2 sections. Dinged because the Classic copies use level-3 headings, breaking the H1/H2-only hierarchy rule.
  • Style Compliance: 5/10 - Recurring deviations: H2/FAQ headings in title case instead of sentence case, Click instead of select, capitalized generic term Workspace in running text, and a [Workspace Name] placeholder that should be lowercase.

Key Findings

  • Heading capitalization: H2 headings must be sentence case (per HELP_AUTHORING_GUIDELINES.md section 2 and HELPSITE_NAMING_CONVENTIONS.md). Examples needing fixes: Why the INT133 Sync Error Happens in Sage Intacct, How to Fix the INT133 Sync Error, and all FAQ questions (Do I Need Sage Intacct Admin Access?, Do I Need to Reenter My Credentials?, etc.). INT133 and Sage Intacct stay capitalized; the surrounding words should not.
  • Forbidden heading depth (Classic only): Reactivate the Web Services User in Sage Intacct and Retry the Sync in Expensify use level-3 headings, which are not allowed - only H1 and H2. The New Expensify copies correctly use H2, so the two platforms are inconsistent. Standardize on H2.
  • UI verbs (Classic only): Click Edit, Click Save, Click Sync Now must use select (HELPSITE_NAMING_CONVENTIONS.md - never click/tap). The New Expensify copy already uses Select Sync Now; align Classic to match.
  • Generic term casing: Workspace is capitalized in running text (connect the Workspace, reconnect the Workspace). Lowercase to workspace unless quoting a UI label.
  • Navigation path: New Expensify uses Workspaces > [Workspace Name] > Accounting - the placeholder must be lowercase: [workspace name]. The Classic copy names the menu and splits navigation across steps (Select your Workspace, Click Accounting) instead of a single bolded path; prefer a unified bolded navigation path.
  • Positives: Strong, retrieval-friendly metadata including internalScope; correct single H1 plus FAQ; task-based headings; good keyword coverage (including the PL04000076 code); tight, actionable steps; appropriate FAQ. Third-party Sage Intacct nav path (Company > Admin > Web Services users) is clearly bolded.

Recommendations

  • Convert all H2 and FAQ headings to sentence case, preserving INT133 and Sage Intacct.
  • Replace all level-3 headings in the Classic copies with H2 so both platforms match and stay within the H1/H2 hierarchy.
  • Replace Click with select in the Classic copies.
  • Lowercase workspace in running text; change [Workspace Name] to [workspace name].
  • Keep the four copies in sync - right now New Expensify and Classic diverge on heading depth and verb usage; apply the same fixes to all four.

Files Reviewed

  • docs/articles/expensify-classic/connections/sage-intacct/Troubleshooting/Authentication-and-Login-errors/INT133-Sync-Error.md - New; sentence-case headings, level-3 depth, and Click need fixes.
  • docs/articles/expensify-classic/connections/sage-intacct/Troubleshooting/Sync-Errors/INT133-Sync-Error.md - New; identical to the above, same fixes.
  • docs/articles/new-expensify/connections/sage-intacct/Troubleshooting/Authentication-and-Login-errors/INT133-Sync-Error.md - New; better verb usage and H2 depth; fix heading case, Workspace, and [Workspace Name] placeholder.
  • docs/articles/new-expensify/connections/sage-intacct/Troubleshooting/Sync-Errors/INT133-Sync-Error.md - New; identical to the above, same fixes.

Note: Detailed line-by-line feedback has been provided as inline comments.

No fix is needed. The only failing check is Check independent approval, and it is not caused by the code.

That check fails until someone other than the PR author approves the PR. Every other check passed or was skipped. Once a reviewer approves, the check will pass.
