Automatic mileage tracker for iPhone. Every business drive logged, classified, and ready for your tax return.
EveryLastMile is an automatic mileage tracker for iPhone. It logs every business drive on its own and turns it into a mileage log you can file: IRS Publication 463 in the United States, CRA logbook rules in Canada.
It is built for self-employed people who deduct vehicle expenses — 1099 contractors, freelancers, real estate agents, consultants, sales reps, small business owners, and gig drivers on DoorDash, Uber, Lyft, Instacart, and Amazon Flex.

Mileage trackers today usually fail in one of three ways:
- They miss drives. Short trips get dropped, two trips get merged into one, the tax report comes out wrong.
- They drain the battery. Always-on GPS makes the phone hot and the user mad.
- They trade privacy for convenience. Your full driving history sits on someone else's server.
We don't think you should have to pick. EveryLastMile combines accurate automatic drive detection with an architecture that keeps your trip data on your device.
EveryLastMile watches for driving in the background and starts the log itself. Most trackers begin recording once they notice movement, which loses the opening stretch of the drive. EveryLastMile captures the true start, the curb you pulled away from, and stops cleanly when you park.
| Signal | What it tells the app |
|---|---|
| Parking geofence | You have left a place you park regularly |
| CarPlay | Your phone connected to the car |
| Car Bluetooth | Your phone paired with the car stereo |
| CoreMotion | You are moving at driving speed, not walking |
| GPS | Where the drive started, and the route it took |
The detection state machine captures the origin while you are still walking to the vehicle, then confirms you are actually in a car before committing to a recording. Moving around a parking lot does not become a trip: anything under 150 m is filtered out.
Set your rules once — which vehicle you were in, your saved places, your working hours — and the app classifies drives for you. Most days there is nothing left to review. Categories follow IRS treatment: business, personal, medical, charitable, and moving.
Date, start and end address, distance, purpose, and business-versus-personal totals. Export as PDF or CSV, filtered by date range, vehicle, or category. The schema is built around IRS Publication 463 and CRA logbook requirements, so the record is contemporaneous by construction rather than reconstructed at tax time.
Track as many vehicles as you drive, each with its own odometer, and save your home, office, and frequent clients so recurring routes classify themselves.
Split one drive into two, join consecutive drives, and edit classifications, notes, or addresses when reality doesn't match the sensors.
Distance and duration on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island while you drive. No need to unlock the phone.
Designed to be readable at a glance in a parked car at night.
The full Privacy Policy has the details. The headlines:
- No servers hold your driving history. We don't operate any server that stores your trip data. Your routes, addresses, and classifications live on your device, optionally synced to your own private iCloud through CloudKit — never to an account of ours.
- On-device encryption. Trip data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database protected by iOS Data Protection (AES-256, tied to your device passcode). Authentication credentials live in the iOS Keychain, with hardware-backed encryption.
- Routing providers see coordinates only. Apple MapKit & Mapbox handles addresses and routing. Neither receives your name, email, classifications, or any trip metadata.
- Analytics never see your driving. We use PostHog to understand which features get used. It never receives GPS coordinates, street addresses, or trip notes. IP addresses are discarded at ingestion and PostHog's GeoIP enrichment is disabled. You can turn analytics off in Profile → Share analytics.
- No selling, no sharing, no ad networks. We don't sell personal information and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There are no advertising SDKs, data brokers, or social-platform pixels in the app.
- AI stays on your device. Any machine-learning processing runs locally, including via Apple's Foundation Models framework. We don't pool your trips to train shared models, and we don't use your content to train ours.
- Your data, your choice. Export everything as JSON or CSV from inside the app. Delete your account and all associated data with one tap.
- GPC respected. We honor Global Privacy Control browser signals on our website.

Does it work for DoorDash, Uber, Lyft, Instacart, and Amazon Flex? Yes. EveryLastMile records every drive regardless of which app you are working through. Platform mileage summaries cover only on-delivery or on-trip miles, so they undercount the miles you can actually deduct.
Does it work in Canada? Yes. Reports are built around CRA logbook requirements as well as IRS Publication 463, for self-employed people filing Form T2125.
What happens after the free trial? You keep all your trip data and can still view and export it. Recording new drives and generating new reports requires Premium.
Do I need to remember to start it? No. There is no timer to start and no button to press. Detection runs in the background.
