Change

Prepare Braid 0.2.1 to release the Pi 1.0.1 dependency remediation and full dependency audit from #38. Bump both package versions, Pi's exact core dependency, and the root lockfile together. Move the maintenance notes into the dated release section with PR/author credit, newcomer status, and the full comparison link. Remove outdated pre-publication installation guidance.

There are no Braid API or runtime behavior changes from 0.2.0. The tested Pi host target is 1.0.1; a separately installed Pi host still needs its own update.

Validation

  • Node 24.21.0 / npm 11.12.1: clean npm ci and npm run verify — 222 core tests, 66 Pi tests, both type checks, offline examples, and isolated external-consumer package smoke checks.

  • npm run audit:dependencies: zero known vulnerabilities, including development, optional, and peer dependencies.

  • Release-tag/version validation, both npm pack --dry-run manifests, and git diff --check.

  • Compared the release range with v0.2.0 and checked fix: upgrade Pi to 1.0.1 and audit development dependencies #38's author against earlier merged contributions; no first-time human contributors.

  • Relevant local tests and type checks pass; required CI must pass before merging/tagging.

  • User-facing docs and changelog are updated.

  • No breaking changes; no migration from 0.2.0.

  • Release notes link implementing PRs, credit authors, and record newcomer status.
