I went through the reference URLs across the controls and the tool pages — 397 unique links — and six of them no longer serve what they cite. Everything else resolves, which for a corpus spanning papers from 2008 to 2024 is a good hit rate.

Four are dead:

  • rfsam-ble-cr-01 / antonioli2020knobble — 404. The author's site moved its paths to include the year; same PDF.
  • rfsam-subg-cr-01 / indesteege2008keeloq — COSIC's page refuses connections on 443 and there is no equivalent page left on their site, so this now points at the IACR archive copy of the same EUROCRYPT 2008 paper.
  • rfsam-wifi-sp-01 / radiotap — radiotap.org returns SERVFAIL on every resolver I tried. Pointed at the kernel.org Linux-wireless radiotap documentation instead.
  • tools/alfa-awus036ach — alfa-network.com is no longer a registered domain (whois returns "No match for domain"). ALFA's site is alfa.com.tw now.

Two still return 200 but no longer serve the work:

  • rfsam-wifi-sp-01 / wpa3-spec — the direct PDF link redirects to a Wi-Fi Alliance login page and serves HTML titled "Login". Now points at the official download landing page. The current specification is v3.5, so if you would rather pin a version than track the latest, say so and I will adjust the title too.
  • tools/quectel-rm500q — the product page was retired and redirects to the 5G module category. I pointed it at the Internet Archive copy rather than at the successor on purpose: the RM520N-GL is the part reported failing to dissect NR RRC (#148 in QCSuper) while the RM500Q-GL is the one with a confirmed working report (#124), so sending a reader to the newer module would be sending them to the worse one for this route.

Left alone on purpose: 23 URLs return 403, 429 or a Cloudflare challenge to automated clients — IEEE, ACM, ISO, Nordic, Qorvo. Those are WAF policies, not dead links.

npm run validate, npm test and npm run build all pass.

If a link check in CI would be useful I am happy to send one separately. The four things that matter, from doing this by hand: treat 403/429 as a pass, treat Cloudflare's 202 challenge as a pass too, fall back to GET when HEAD is refused, and compare the final host against the original — that last one is the only thing that catches the WPA3 and Quectel cases, where the status code stays 200 while the content goes away.
