DandersFrames Changelog

[5.3.2]

Bug Fixes

  • (Auras) Fix one player's buffs, debuffs and Aura Designer icons all staying blank until a reload, most often after they died and were resurrected. (by Krathe)
  • (Auras) Fix "Only My Buffs" showing other players' buffs on a group member who is in a different instance to you. Those buffs now hide until they are back with you. Group members merely far out of range are unaffected. (by Krathe)
  • (Auras) Fix a group member's buffs, debuffs and Aura Designer indicators staying blank after they walked out of range and back, until combat ended or you reloaded. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix every Aura Designer icon vanishing until a reload after joining a raid, your own frame included. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix debuffs appearing in the place of buff indicators, most visibly after swapping to a spec with no Aura Designer setup, until a reload. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix filter, debuff and layout group icons staying at full brightness on out-of-range players while the indicators next to them faded. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix indicators showing another player's auras after the group changed — someone leaving, a sort, or entering an arena. Long-lasting buffs could stay stuck on the wrong frame until a reload.
  • (Aura Designer) Fix an indicator lighting on a player who never had the aura while a raid is still forming, and staying wrong until a reload. (by Krathe)
  • (Dispel) "Only Dispellable by You" now updates immediately when you change talents, instead of waiting for a reload — a Shaman's poison dispel follows Poison Cleansing Totem as you swap it in and out. (by Krathe)
  • (Dispel) Fix bleeds showing as dispellable on other players' frames for a Dwarf after group changes — Stoneform only cleanses yourself, so they now mark your own frame only. (by Krathe)
  • (Debuffs) The coloured dispel-type ring on debuff icons now follows Show Border, so turning borders off turns the ring off too. (by Krathe)
  • (Debuffs) Max Debuffs now explains itself: the game applies the limit to each debuff category separately, so the slider shows the real ceiling for your filters instead of a number that could be exceeded. (by Krathe)
  • (Profiles) Fix a profile switch, including an automatic one, stopping part-way through in a large raid and leaving frames on the old profile until a reload. (by Krathe)
  • (Click-Casting) Fix click-casting bindings failing to recover on zone-in for some players, with an error each time. (by Krathe)
  • (Click-Casting) Item bindings no longer rely on game functions that patch 12.1.5 removes. (by Krathe)
  • (Icons) Fix the resurrection icon sometimes not appearing while a group member is being resurrected in Mythic+ or raid. (by Krathe)
  • (Frames) Fix stuttering and freezing when players join or leave the group, and when joining a large raid.
  • (Frames) Fix right-clicking a raid member who is far away or in another zone showing a pet menu instead of the player menu.
  • (Highlights) Fix the animated and dashed borders stopping part-way along each edge on wide frames.
  • (Test Mode) Fix the Defensives preview staying greyed out after switching the Defensive Icon back on.

Changes

  • (Aura Filters) The built-in spell list is refreshed from the latest raid and dungeon logs: 23 spells added, two dropped, several trinket and item names corrected, and six items that were bundled under one name now list separately.
  • (Aura Filters) A handful of spells go back to their default on or off state in the Filter Designer, because the way they are stored changed.
  • (Aura Designer) Border animations are back on aura icons. Placed icons and squares, aura bars, and filter, debuff and layout group icons can all animate their borders again, in combat included. Each one is set from its own Border section in the Aura Designer, alongside the colour and thickness. Aura icons always start on the effect's settled loop — only the frame border still plays the opening flash. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Debuff Groups have a new Hide Duplicates Between Groups switch, on by default, so a debuff matching several groups shows only in the first one that matches. (by Krathe)

[5.3.1]

New Features

  • (Icons) Pings now show on frames. When a group member pings a player, the ping icon appears on that player's frame, matching the default raid frames. Find it under Indicators > Icons > Ping Icon, with the usual scale, position and hide-in-combat options.
  • (Tooltips) Every DF tooltip type now has its own Show Out of Combat and Show In Combat setting, each offering Show, Hold Shift, Hold Ctrl, Hold Alt or Hidden — so frame tooltips can, for example, appear only while holding Alt out of combat and never in combat. This replaces the Disable In Combat checkboxes for frame and binding tooltips; existing choices carry over. (by Krathe)
  • (Auto Layouts) Layouts can now be renamed. Click a layout's name to open its dialog, which now carries the name alongside the player range. (by Krathe)

Bug Fixes

  • (Targeted Spells) The Targeted List drops a caster's bar the moment it dies — bars no longer linger for a second or two on dead mobs, and a cast with no cast time no longer shows a huge garbage countdown. (by Krathe)
  • (Targeted Spells) Personal targeted icons no longer shuffle sideways as casts start and expire: new casts join at the end, showing icons hold their place, and the row re-centres as icons come and go. Also fixes the Max Icons cap being able to hide the one cast that was actually aimed at you. (by Krathe)
  • (Tooltips) Fix a suppressed frame tooltip re-appearing a moment later, fix pet frame tooltips ignoring the tooltip settings entirely, and fix the tooltip flashing up when a modifier key is pressed while the mouse is already on a frame. (by Krathe)
  • (Raid Frames) Fix turning Use Group-Based Layout on or off silently re-orienting the raid, so rows stay rows and columns stay columns. (by Krathe)
  • (Auto Layouts) Fix a layout showing a false override on Growth Direction, with a mismatched global and a reset that applied the wrong orientation. (by Krathe)
  • (Dispel) Fix the dispel overlay staying dark on poisons for a Shaman carrying Poison Cleansing Totem. (by Krathe)
  • (Dispel) Fix "Only Dispellable by You" never lighting for bleeds on a Dwarf, whose Stoneform clears them. (by Krathe)
  • (Missing Buffs) Fix missing buff icons going stale and never coming back — most often after a raider walked out of range, and after a wipe. The icons stayed hidden until you re-buffed that player, a fight started, or you reloaded. (by Krathe)
  • (Test Mode) Fix preview auras being left behind on your real party and raid frames after leaving test mode or locking frames, showing icons nobody actually has until a reload.
  • (Test Mode) Leaving test mode no longer briefly freezes the game while frames return to their real auras.

Changes

  • (Resource Bar) The Size controls now rename themselves to match the bar's orientation, and a new Adjust For Frame Border option decides whether a matched bar tucks inside the frame border or spans the full health bar. (by Krathe)
  • (Defensive Icons) The stack count now uses the addon's own font at a smaller size, matching every other piece of DF text. Profiles that set their own font or scale keep it. (by Krathe)
  • (Debuffs) "Any Dispel Type" and "All Dispellable" were the same filter, so they are now one option. (by Krathe)
  • (Test Mode) The Defensives on/off is back in the test panel, alongside the count slider it drives. (by Krathe)

[5.3.0]

New Features

  • (Frames) New Frame Fade settings under General > Frame. A Global Frame Fade slider sets the opacity of every unit frame so they can recede into your UI. Tick "Separate Combat Fade" for two values — one out of combat, one in — so frames sit faded while you're idle and snap to full when a fight starts. "Show In-Combat Fade When Hovering" brings frames back to their in-combat opacity while your mouse is on one (every frame, or just the hovered one), and "Use In-Combat Fade In Instances" holds the in-combat opacity for the whole dungeon, raid, arena or battleground so you don't fade out between pulls. Combines with the out-of-range and health fades.
  • (Test Mode) New Indicator Info toggle in the Test Mode panel. With it on, hover any element on a test frame — buff bar, debuff bar, defensive icon, missing buffs, Aura Designer indicators and layout groups — to highlight it and see its name plus the settings page that controls it. (by Krathe)
  • (Raid Frames) New Center Mode for centred group layouts (Frames > Raid Frames > Group Layout). "Fixed" pins your first groups to the anchor and grows extra groups off to one side, so the frames you watch stop sliding sideways as the raid fills and wraps. "Default" keeps the whole block centred. Only applies with a centred Groups Anchor and Groups Before Wrap under 8. (by Krathe)
  • (Raid Frames) "Groups Grow From" and "Row Order" are now a single corner picker: click the corner of the frame area you want the groups to sit in. Cells that can't apply at your current settings are hidden. (by Krathe)

Bug Fixes

  • (Aura Designer) Fix indicators and effects dying mid-fight and not coming back until a reload — icons frozen with the timer stuck, health-bar recolours vanishing, HoTs "just stopping", or an effect stuck on the wrong people. It was triggered by anything that briefly interrupted identity data during combat: a battle rez, a cinematic, a vehicle, a phase change or a disconnect. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix your own frame's tracked buffs disappearing for minutes at a time while riding an encounter platform or transport. (by Krathe)
  • (Auras) Fix an error storm on entering an instance after the 18 Aug client update, which also left aura rows, dispel borders and overlays blank until a reload.
  • (Auras) Fix auras and Aura Designer indicators sometimes staying faded on a group member who is back in range — most ...

(by Krathe)

  • (Auras) Fix an error storm on entering an instance after the 18 Aug client update, which also left aura rows, dispel borders and overlays blank until a reload.
  • (Auras) Fix auras and Aura Designer indicators sometimes staying faded on a group member who is back in range — most often after combat, a phase change or someone reconnecting.
  • (Auras) Fix stale auras sticking around until a reload: after a cinematic, after reloading while a group member was a ghost, or when a frame was reused for a different player after a roster change. Aura displays now also re-check their hide conditions every few seconds as a safety net. (by...

DandersFrames Changelog

[5.4.0]

New Features

  • (Aura Designer) New Power Infusion Helper for priests, added from the Other Buffs tab. One click marks the group members worth infusing: "Big cooldown" for anyone who has pressed a major damage cooldown, and "Already has active Power Infusion" so you don't double up. Everything it shows goes dark while your own Power Infusion is on cooldown, so it only speaks up when you can act on it, and a switch keeps it always on if you prefer. Choose where each signal appears — border, health bar, background, text colour, an icon or a square — turn on icons for any of it — their cooldowns, trinkets, potions and racials — to see what they pressed and how hard the burst is landing. Pick which classes count and add a sound; tanks and healers are skipped unless you say otherwise. (by Maelareth)
  • (Aura Designer) If you used the Power Infusion Helper in an earlier 5.4.0 alpha: the "Big cooldown with a trinket or potion" signal has been retired, and trinkets, potions and racials are now shown as icons alongside the cooldowns instead. Your helper updates itself the next time you open its settings. (by Maelareth)
  • (DandersMover) DandersFrames now ships with DandersMover, a new standalone mover addon. It is the foundation for a shared positioning system across Danders addons — frame-to-frame snapping, anchoring elements to each other, undo/redo and save/discard. This release only includes the addon and its demo (/mover demo); DandersFrames' own frames move over to it in a later update.
  • (Frames) Party and raid frames can now be moved with DandersMover, including snapping them to and anchoring them onto other addons' elements.
  • (Frames) Pinned sets, the personal targeted-spells block and the targeted list can now be moved with DandersMover too, including anchoring a pinned set to any other element. Unlocking party frames shows only party movers, unlocking raid frames only raid movers (other addons' movers can be shown from the legend or DandersMover's settings), and a pinned set you had anchored to the frames through the Anchor To dropdown stays anchored.
  • (DandersMover) A full editor polish pass: dark slab movers with role colours (blue free, purple anchored, green anchor-root) and a top strip carrying Save & Exit, Discard, Undo, Redo, Settings and Grid, anchor tether lines that stretch and snap when you drag an anchored element too far, dashed snap slots, distance-based snapping with adjustable snap and highlight ranges, a docked panel with nudge (Shift x10, Ctrl x100), smooth animations throughout, hold Alt to peek at the real frames, click-to-cycle stacked movers, a Configure button that jumps to the element's own settings page, and copy-position between party and raid variants.
  • (DandersMover) Anchor things to individual party or raid frames and to raid groups, choose what to anchor to from a searchable list instead of dragging, set a backup anchor that takes over whenever the main one is hidden, and drag the link handle onto another element to tie the two together without moving anything.
  • (DandersMover) The element panel now reads as part of the mover it is editing — matching outlines on both and a short glowing line joining them — and slides across when you pick a different mover. Pin it and it detaches: it stops following your selection and carries on editing its own mover, which wears a marker so you can see which one the panel belongs to. Editing in a panel pins it automatically (there is a toggle for that under the mover's Editor settings), and its cross closes it. Clicking empty space no longer deselects, so the camera and the rest of your UI stay usable while movers are unlocked; Esc backs out a step at a time.
  • (DandersMover) All Danders addons now group under a "Danders" category in the AddOn list.
(by Krathe)
  • (Frames) Frame Fade now has an on/off switch on its row, so you can turn fading off without touching the alpha values.

Bug Fixes

  • (Aura Designer) Fix debuffs appearing in the place of buff indicators, most visibly after swapping to a spec with no Aura Designer setup, until a reload. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix filter, debuff and layout group icons staying at full brightness on out-of-range players while the indicators next to them faded.
(by Krathe)
  • (Auras) Fix "Only My Buffs" showing other players' buffs on a group member who is in a different instance to you. Those buffs now hide until they are back with you. Group members merely far out of range are unaffected. (by Krathe)
  • (Auras) Fix one player's buffs, debuffs and Aura Designer icons all staying blank until a reload, most often after they died and were resurrected. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix the Add Indicator panel opening empty.
  • (Aura Designer) Fix an open panel's highlight staying on the page behind the spell picker, so it looked like two random spells in the list were selected. It now outlines the spell list while the picker is up.
  • (Aura Designer) Fix indicators showing another player's auras after the group changed — someone leaving, a sort, or entering an arena. Long-lasting buffs could stay stuck on the wrong frame until a reload.
  • (Settings) Fix the settings window freezing the game for several seconds every time you opened or closed it after using the search box.
  • (Settings) Fix a long pause when opening the Changed Settings page, or searching, for the first time.
  • (Settings) Fix arrows showing as empty boxes on the Changed Settings page and in undo messages.
  • (Settings) Fix "Reset Group" leaving the controls inside an open panel showing their old values. Undo of a reset had the same problem.
  • (Settings) Changed Settings now names a changed texture, font or sound the way its dropdown does, instead of printing the whole file path off the edge of the page.
  • (Frames) Fix right-clicking a raid member who is far away or in another zone showing a pet menu instead of the player menu.
  • (Frames) Fix stuttering and freezing when players join or leave the group, and when joining a large raid.
  • (DandersMover) Anything anchored to your frames now follows them live as you change Frame Width, Height, spacing or padding, instead of staying where it was until something else moved.
  • (Settings) Fix an invisible patch swallowing clicks on some settings rows, so a dropdown would not open or a slider would not take a drag on the first try.
  • (Settings) A setting shown on a row is no longer repeated inside that row's settings panel.
  • (Settings) The first setting inside a panel now greys out with the rest when the row's switch is off.
  • (Settings) Fix the new Frame page not appearing (old-style rows, no controls on the row) when another Danders addon loaded an older copy of the shared UI kit first.

Changes

  • (Frames) Hover a setting's name on the page and its explanation shows, the same one the panel behind the row gives.
  • (Frames) The most-changed settings are back on the page. Frame Size shows Width and Height, Layout Direction shows the growth direction and where frames grow from, Border shows its thickness and style, and the Permanent Mover shows its handle size once it is switched on. Every row now opens from a strip along its bottom edge, so the way in is in the same place whether or not a row shows anything.
  • (Settings) A row whose settings are all shown on the row itself now offers to pin them in a panel you can keep open beside any page, and the "more settings" count follows the mode you are editing.
  • (Aura Designer) Redesigned. The preview, the settings and the indicator list are now one column that fits the normal settings window instead of forcing it wider, and each effect's settings open in their own panel rather than filling the page.
  • (Aura Designer) Adding an indicator is now one panel showing the whole job at once: pick the aura, pick how it should look, pick where it goes. Every look is drawn as a small picture of your own frame with that effect on it, and anything the aura already has is greyed out so you cannot add it twice. Starting from a filter is offered as an equal choice beside the spell search.
  • (Aura Designer) Choosing a filter for a new indicator now opens the full filter list, the same way the spell search does. Open any filter in that list to scroll through the spells inside it — the switched-off ones included — before you pick it.
  • (Aura Designer) The Sound choice now carries a note on its picture. It was the one look that changes nothing about the frame, so its picture was easy to mistake for nothing being chosen.
  • (Aura Designer) The Add Indicator panel now highlights the section it is waiting on, and a section that does not apply to your choice — most looks change the whole frame, so they have no position — stays readable and says so, instead of greying out as if something were broken. Once there is nothing left to answer, an arrow points at Add to my frames.
  • (Aura Designer) The frame preview can be folded away, scales up to fill the space it needs, and its zoom moved to a button in its corner.
  • (Text Designer) Redesigned to match, and it now uses the same frame preview as the Aura Designer.
  • (Aura Filters) Redes...

Choose where each signal appears — border, health bar, background, text colour, an icon or a square — turn on icons to see which cooldowns are running, and include their trinkets, potions and racials to see how hard the burst is landing.
DandersFrames Changelog

[5.4.0]

New Features

  • (Aura Designer) New Power Infusion Helper for priests, added from the Other Buffs tab. One click marks the group members worth infusing: tick "Big cooldown" for anyone who has used a major damage cooldown, "Big cooldown with a trinket or potion" for someone going all in, and "Already has active Power Infusion" so you don't double up. Everything it shows goes dark while your own Power Infusion is on cooldown, so it only speaks up when you can act on it, and a switch keeps it always on if you prefer. Choose where each signal appears — border, health bar, background, text colour, an icon or a square — pick which classes count, and add a sound; tanks and healers are skipped unless you say otherwise.
(by Krathe)

Bug Fixes

  • (Aura Designer) Fix debuffs appearing in the place of buff indicators, most visibly after swapping to a spec with no Aura Designer setup, until a reload. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix filter, debuff and layout group icons staying at full brightness on out-of-range players while the indicators next to them faded.

Changes

  • (Aura Filters) Redesigned to match the other two, and it no longer forces the settings window wider.

  • (Aura Designer, Text Designer, Aura Filters) The redesigned pages now have breathing room between their sections instead of everything sitting flush against everything else.

  • (Aura Designer) Layout Groups now has an "Add Layout Group" button that opens its choices in a panel, the same way adding an indicator works, instead of the choices taking up room above the list at all times. The two kinds are drawn as pictures side by side, with Create Filter and Manage Filters at the foot of the panel.

  • (Text Designer) The category filter is now a button on the Text Elements heading that opens the choices in a panel, matching the Aura Designer. It lights up and names the filter whenever you are not showing everything.

  • (Aura Filters) The Buff Bar / Defensive Icon / Aura Designer buttons now open in a panel from a Used By row, so their names and filter counts are readable instead of being cut short. "How this works" moved in with them.

  • The old built-in frame movers, drag grid and position panel are retired — frames are now moved with DandersMover, with a basic fallback drag on the frame handle if DandersMover is disabled.

  • (Settings) Dragging sliders and colour pickers no longer stutters — changes preview smoothly while you drag and apply in full when you let go.

  • (Settings) Prefer the old settings look? A "Classic Layout" switch in the settings window's title bar (also under Options) swaps between the new popout-panel layout and the classic inline one, for the whole account.

  • (Settings) The settings window now opens smaller by default (640x600). Your saved window size is untouched, and you can still resize it as before; /df resetgui restores ...

(by Krathe)

Bug Fixes

  • (Aura Designer) Fix debuffs appearing in the place of buff indicators, most visibly after swapping to a spec with no Aura Designer setup, until a reload. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix filter, debuff and layout group icons staying at full brightness on out-of-range players while the indicators next to them faded.

DandersFrames Changelog

(by Krathe)
  • (Auras) Auras on a group member who isn't in your part of the world — another instance, another phase, a ghost after releasing — now hide on every display (debuff row, dispel highlight, Aura Designer indicators), not just the buff bar. A newly placed indicator no longer instantly fills with the wrong aura on those members. (by Krathe)
  • (Auras) Fix the debuff row going empty after switching the debuff filter to All Debuffs during a dungeon. (by Krathe)
  • (Auras) Fix an enlarged important debuff making the row wrap one icon early and its tooltip hover area not matching the bigger icon, and fix the debuff preview enlarging every icon when Priority is ticked together with Boss and/or Role. (by Krathe)
  • (Auras) The debuff Icons Per Row slider now greys out under vertical growth, where it has no effect. The warning that category filters can't catch every debuff is back as a caution banner under the All Debuffs switch, shown only while that switch is off. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix My Buffs / Any Buffs still reporting a spell as tracked in the other pool after all of its effects had been deleted. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) The health-bar tint's "Show When Missing" mode now honours "Tint Entire Bar", so missing health stays visible instead of the tint covering the whole bar. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix the Buff Bar still showing after answering "replace my buffs" when enabling the Aura Designer, and the Buff Bar banner's "Enable Buffs" link having the same problem in reverse. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix indicators stuck under the health bar with the Frame Level slider doing nothing — a leftover setting from an old version was pinning them below the frame. It is cleared automatically. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Fix the Aura Designer appearing to enable itself when switching between the Party and Raid tabs — the two modes could end up sharing one preset. (by Krathe)
  • (Aura Designer) Bar indicators now use the same section names and order as icons and squares: "Texture & Colors" is now "Appearance", and "Show When Missing" leads the square card the way it leads the icon card. (by Krathe)
  • (Dispel Highlight) Fix the overlay washing whole frames in flat white (or the wrong colour) in dungeons. (by Krathe)
  • (Dispel Highlight) Your own dispel colours now apply to the debuff icon border (they were meant to before, but the palette could never be built — if your border colours look different, that is the setting working for the first time), update straight away when you switch or import a profile, and apply correctly to debuffs with no dispel type.
