Bash Entertainment is building Bash Fighter, an open-source platform fighter for chaotic 20-player free-for-all matches instead of the usual 1v1. It's playable right now, in a browser, with no install and no account: https://bashfighter.com/
The default mode is Last Fighter Standing: single-elimination battle royale for up to 20 players, with a deterministic arena that shrinks as the match goes on. Two more modes, Timed Brawl and Stocks, share the same simulation. The project is early — days old, with a small roster and a tiny audience — and the README in the main repository describes exactly what exists today rather than the eventual vision.
Technically, the game is a deterministic fixed-point simulation
(packages/sim) driven by tick count and match seed, never wall-clock
time, so every client and the server can run the identical simulation
and stay in sync. Netcode is server-authoritative: the server is the
source of truth for a 20-player match, and clients predict their own
fighter locally and reconcile against server snapshots. The stack is
TypeScript throughout, rendered with PixiJS (WebGL2).
The code is Bash-Entertainment/bash-fighter,
licensed AGPL-3.0, with a Contributor License Agreement (see CLA.md in
that repository) that lets Bash Entertainment also offer the game under
additional commercial terms without taking ownership of what
contributors write.
Start with CONTRIBUTING.md
in the main repository for dev setup, coding standards, and the PR
process. Issues labelled
good-first-issue
are scoped for a first contribution — comment on one to claim it before
starting, so two people don't duplicate the same fix.
Open-ended questions, playtest reports, and feature ideas belong in GitHub Discussions rather than Issues, which are reserved for concrete, actionable work.
Played a match and want to say how it felt? The fastest way is the Feedback button inside the game itself (on the start screen, in-match HUD, or match-end screen) — a short form, no account needed, that posts straight to our server. You can also open an issue or start a discussion on the main repository.
