Note
9base status: Educational · Lifecycle: archived.
This repository is retained as historical material and is not actively maintained by 9base. The provenance and scope below distinguish local work from inherited projects and dependencies.
moviepad is a historical TMDB-based movie application created as a COMP205 final project, as stated by its repository description. The recorded local development commits date from 31 December 2020–8 January 2021; hosting creation/push timestamps are later and are not substituted for those author dates. This is an educational application archive, not a currently operated movie service.

pubspec.yaml records Flutter/Dart, HTTP, Firebase/Cloud Firestore,
SQLite (sqflite), local notifications, Workmanager and connectivity dependencies,
with Dart SDK constraint >=2.7.0 <3.0.0. Frameworks, movie data and service
dependencies remain third-party work.
The legacy README describes two planned daily cloud messages. The inspected source separately registers a periodic task, checks latest-movie data and contains local notification and messaging handlers. A documented plan is not evidence that those scheduled cloud messages were deployed or delivered.
The tree contains Android and iOS application scaffolding, assets and historical dependency locks. No current build, backend availability, notification delivery or platform support was validated. Existing configuration is historical source material; no service credentials or endpoints are repeated in this retrospective, and no configuration or licensing changes are made. The starter README and project-era behavior notes follow unchanged below.
| Repository | Role |
|---|---|
| AndroGarbage | Native Android/Java experiments and course exercises |
| FlutterGarbage | Flutter/Dart experiments and course exercises |
| moviepad | TMDB-based Flutter final project identified as COMP205 in repository metadata |
The relationship is supported by the learning collections' own course notes and moviepad's final-project description. It does not mean every standalone experiment was a graded assignment.
This explanation was reconstructed on 8 October 2026 from the public repository tree, metadata and commit history. It is new documentation of historical material, not evidence that this explanation existed during the original development period. Original source authorship, technical history and license files have not been rewritten.

Moviepad has 2 planned firebase cloud message. One of them sends a message at 13:30 every day. (After lunch) Another one sends a message at 20:00 every day. (After dinner) We think that these time slots are the perfect time for watching a movie.
Also, Moviepad has a background task which is a local notification. When upload a new film from the http to the database, local notification sends a message.
In the User Dashboard Page, there is a connectivity checker. It checks connection status and shows it on the screen.
