Error on launching core for the game

Kodi version: 20.2 Nexus
Distro: LibreELEC
IAGL: 4.0.4

When trying to start any ROM the system reports that, for example, snex9x_libretro does not found. In the same time downgrading to IAGL 3.0.9 works.

Do you have a debug log you can share, and a little more about your setup? Are you using retroplayer or external/retroarch?

The error suggests you dont have snes9x installed and no SNES emulator is available. The wiki mentions that in setup steps here. Can it be installed from LibreElec? If not, you can find an installable snes addon from the steps listed in the wiki above, and change IAGL to use that by configuring the game list settings.

I surely had the snes9x installed. It worked with older IAGL version (and I double check it too), but after it was updated it stopped to work with that error.

I use retroplayer. It seems, that 4.0.4 version somehow ignores the setting or Libretro compatibility layer of kodi and tries to call snes9x_libretro in place of using retroplayer.

And I did not try to configure game lists settings individually as stated in the link you posted.

OK. You should be able to update the game list settings to use any installed core.
