Mouse as Selection Tool

It would be good if there was an option to use the mouse as a selection tool. I generally prefer writing/sketching with my pen, but then swapping over to my mouse to select anything I want to move or delete, so this feels like a gap in the feature set. At the very least, I'd appreciate a rectangular select tool, though a lasso select tool would probably also be useful. Add to that Ctrl+A to select everything at once.

Edit: I also noticed that there doesn't seem like there's a way to select handwriting directly? Seems like an oversight if I'm not mistaken.
