Support for PTP Automotive Profile

I would like to request the addition of built-in support for the PTP Automotive Profile within the statime project.

This feature should include:

• A dedicated configuration example file (e.g., statime-automotive.toml) to demonstrate the necessary PTP configurations specific to the automotive profile (like network transport level, message rate, etc.).
• Any necessary logic or enhancements within the statime core to properly handle the characteristics of the automotive profile.

This would be highly valuable for users deploying PTP in time-sensitive networking (TSN) environments, particularly within automotive and industrial applications.

• Precedent in statime: Support for other domain-specific profiles already exists, specifically the Power Sector Profile (e.g., IEC 61850), which provides a clear precedent for integrating profile-specific configurations. @ahresse Can you provide a reference for the standard specifying the PTP automotive profile? I am having trouble finding the standard the linuxptp configuration is based on.

Yes, there is actually multiple "automotive" profile. I think in the long term, it would be relevant to check that statime can handle all 3.

However, the one that I am mostly interested in is: IEEE 802.1AS PTP profile for transport of timing. You can find details about it in "IEEE Std 802.1AS-2020:
IEEE Standard for Local and Metropolitan Area Networks Timing and Synchronization for Time-Sensitive Applications" - Annex F. Do you have access to this document?
