2.2.10
==== Bug sweep fixes ====
- FIXED doctor WiFi check: shell functions (e.g. lscript_has_wifi_adapter) now
run in-process instead of via bash -c (was always FAIL).
- FIXED managed_spaces / monitor_spaces infinite loop on long iface names (wlx...).
- FIXED terms_of_use: answering NO now exits instead of trapping the user.
- FIXED install_ligolo_ng: versioned GitHub asset URLs (proxy_0.9_linux_amd64).
- FIXED katana vs katana-pd install mapping (Framework vs ProjectDiscovery).
- FIXED lscript_term "${cmd[0]}" array index for gnome-terminal path.
- FIXED lab ARP MITM enables ip_forward before arpspoof.
- FIXED lab scope CIDR matching for /8 /16 /24 /32.
- FIXED spoof_email quoting for subject/body with spaces.
- FIXED eternalblue x86 PROCESSINJECT default (lsass.exe).
2.2.9
==== Home UI + docs polish ====
- REDESIGNED CLI main menu (`banner`): stronger LAZY/2 brand block, clearer
Quick commands / Wireless / Tool menus sections, ASCII-safe layout.
- FIXED typo: Keyboard shortucts -> Keyboard shortcuts.
- REDESIGNED GitHub README: cleaner hero, compact "What you get", tool catalogs
deferred to FEATURES.md / TOOLS.md; troubleshooting kept and version-synced.
- SYNCED FEATURES.md / version.txt to 2.2.9.
- CONFIRMED lab DNS/ARP launchers still use env LPATH=... bash "$LPATH/labs/...".
2.2.8
==== Audit completion (steps 3–12) ====
- COMPLETED library function verification — all 22 `lscript_*` helpers exist in lib/.
- FIXED remaining raw `xterm` calls (patator, wifiphisher, MITMf, BEEF, iftop) → `lscript_term` with quoting.
- FIXED patator wizard exported wrong variable (`XTP` → `XPT`).
- FIXED deprecated installers (UniByAv) now return failure instead of fake success.
- CONFIRMED no remaining `eval` in project scripts.
- NOTE: `HOWMANYTOOLS=53` is intentional — `listshortcuts()` only defines tools 1–53;
the full catalog (~110) uses `${#toolarray[@]}` in the tools menu.
2.2.7
==== Audit fixes (reliability + lab launch) ====
- FIXED lab/spoof terminal launches: `lscript_term` now passes multi-arg commands
(e.g. `env LPATH=... bash labs/dns_spoof_lab.sh`) directly to gnome-terminal
instead of wrapping them in a fragile `bash -c` string — fixes literal `$LPATH`
"No such file or directory" errors on DNS/ARP lab tools.
- FIXED `LPATH` is exported early so child terminals inherit the install path.
- FIXED `doctor_check_item` uses `bash -c` instead of `eval`.
- FIXED `reinstall_tools` declares the `selected` array explicitly.
- FIXED dnsspoof / ngrok / arp-scan xterm calls — quoted variables, use `lscript_term`.
- MOVED `find_pid` to `lib/lscript_utils.sh` as `lscript_find_pid` (shared by lh2).
- IMPROVED `install.sh` verifies required lab/lib files exist before finishing.
- IMPROVED WiFi-Pumpkin installer stub — warns instead of cloning deprecated repo.
- NOTE: keyboard shortcuts cover tools 1–53 (`listshortcuts`); full catalog is ~110+.
2.2.6
==== Swiss-knife reports + tool explanations ====
- NEW Other Tools entries with plain-English descriptions:
* sslscan - TLS certificate/cipher scanner
* testssl.sh - deep TLS/SSL configuration audit
* Gitleaks - secret/token scanner for repositories
* Trivy - vulnerability scanner for filesystems and container images
* Semgrep - static code security scanner
* Syft - SBOM/package inventory generator
* Grype - vulnerability scanner for SBOMs, filesystems, and images
* dnsx - DNS resolver/prober for recon lists
* Katana - web crawler for authorized targets
- Expanded `safeaudit` / `audit` into a report hub:
* TLS/SSL audit report (sslscan + testssl.sh)
* repo secrets + code scan (gitleaks + semgrep)
* SBOM + dependency risk (syft + grype + trivy)
* web crawl + DNS probe (katana + dnsx)
- Added `TOOLS.md` so every modern Swiss-knife tool has a short explanation and safe example command.
- Doctor now checks the new defensive/recon tools.
- Bumped VERSION and version.txt to 2.2.6.
2.2.5
==== Organization + safe audit tools ====
- NEW Other Tools entries:
* Amass - passive/deep asset discovery
* Feroxbuster - fast content discovery
* WhatWeb - web technology fingerprinting
* Lynis - local Linux security audit
* checksec - binary hardening checks
- NEW "Safe audit" guided workflow, available as `safeaudit` / `audit` or from Other Tools:
* passive domain recon report (amass + subfinder)
* web fingerprint report (whatweb + httpx)
* local Linux audit (lynis)
* binary hardening check (checksec)
Reports are saved under `$LPATH/reports`.
- Doctor now checks the modern recon/defensive tools so missing installs are easier to spot.
- Installer now copies dotfiles when moving a clone into `/root/lscript` and guards the old `/root/lscript`
delete with a realpath check.
- Uninstaller now guards `/usr/local/bin/lscript` and `/bin/lscript` cleanup with realpath checks.
- Bumped VERSION and version.txt to 2.2.5.
2.2.4
==== URL hygiene + LPATH env override + `l` launcher removed ====
BREAKING CHANGE — the `l` launcher is GONE:
- `install.sh` no longer copies the main script as `l` to `/usr/local/bin/lscript/`
and no longer creates the `/usr/local/bin/l` symlink.
- The `~/.bashrc` snippet no longer adds `alias l=...` or `unalias l`.
- The installer now actively removes any leftover `/usr/local/bin/l` or
`/usr/local/bin/lscript/l` from older installs so they cannot shadow `lazy`.
- `l` is no longer listed as a reserved keyword for `ks` (custom shortcuts),
so users can now bind it.
- Documentation (README, FEATURES, lscript.conf.example) is updated to
document `lazy` as the **only** supported launcher and to explain why `l`
was removed.
- If a user has a leftover `alias l=...` or `unalias l` line in `~/.bashrc`
from an older install, the new installer deletes it.
- `uninstall.sh` also strips any `alias l=`, `unalias l`, and the legacy
`# lscript launcher*` comment lines from `~/.bashrc`.
WHY: the `l` launcher collided with Ubuntu/Kali's `l` = `ls` shell alias,
which made `lazy` the de-facto launch command anyway. Removing `l` makes
the install explicit and stops users from accidentally running lscript when
they meant to list a directory.
URL FIXES (verified all repos exist on GitHub):
URL FIXES (verified all repos exist on GitHub):
- 301 redirects updated to new homes:
* UltimateHackers/ReconDog → s0md3v/ReconDog
* reverse-shell/routersploit → threat9/routersploit
* UltimateHackers/Hash-Buster → s0md3v/Hash-Buster
* P0cL4bs/WiFi-Pumpkin → P0cL4bs/WiFi-Pumpkin-deprecated
* leviathan-framework/leviathan → utkusen/leviathan
* vysec/morphHTA → vysecurity/morphHTA
- 404 truly dead → active replacement:
* toxic-ig/Trity → mehedigb/Trity-2.0
* zanyarjamal/xerxes → sepehrdaddev/Xerxes
* wi-fi-analyzer/mdk3-master → aircrack-ng/mdk3 (apt install mdk3)
* m4ll0k/Infoga → The404Hacking/Infoga
- Deprecated tools (no maintained successor):
* suraj-root/nWatch → install_nwatch now installs nmap and prints a deprecation note
* zerosum0x0/koadic → install_koadic recommends Empire (already in menu)
* Mr-Un1k0d3r/UniByAv → install_unibyav recommends Veil / TheFatRat (already in menu)
RUNTIME BUG:
- FIXED `lib/lscript_conf.sh` — `lscript_load_conf` was unconditionally overwriting
`LPATH` from `settings/lscript.conf`, breaking direct invocation of
`labs/*.sh` scripts that pass `LPATH=` on the env. Now conf LPATH is only
applied when the caller has not set one in the environment.
INSTALLER:
- FIXED `install_ligolo_ng` — `gitlink` was set to `ticarpi/jwt_tool.git`
(copy-paste mistake); now correctly points to `nicocha30/ligolo-ng.git`.
The function downloads the proxy + agent release tarballs (no `git clone`),
chmods them, symlinks into `/usr/local/bin/`, and uses `-SL` (show errors)
+ proper per-archive success/failure reporting.
2.2.3
==== Bug fixes + modern tools ====
CRITICAL BUG FIXES
- FIXED `lh2:177` — `[[ "TEMPHANDDD" = "" ]]` (string literal) → `[[ "$TEMPHANDDD" = "" ]]` (variable).
The "bad handshake" branch was always taken instead of "unknown".
- FIXED `lh3:587` — `cp "$LPATH"/wpslog >> "$LPATH"/wpslog` (infinite file growth, DoS) → `cat wpslogloop >> wpslog`.
- FIXED `lh3:584` — typo `$TT3` → `$TTT3` (WPA-found branch never fired on second condition).
- FIXED `lh3:575` — guard `-f "$LPATH/wpslog"` → `-f "$LPATH/wpslogloop"` (wpslogloop is the real log file).
- FIXED `lh2:280,308,386` — `find_pid` was called but never defined → deauth processes became zombies.
Added a real `find_pid` that sets AVPID to a unique timestamped filename.
- FIXED double `YORNAA=exit` branches in `l:9686/9806`; second is now removed.
- FIXED `kill -- -$` (broken) → `kill -- -$$` in the exit handler.
- FIXED broken xterm nested-quote command in `l:2286` (patator wizard) and `l:8540` (arp-scan).
- FIXED `r6` "restart anonsurf" calling `anonym8` (wrong tool) → `anonsurf change`.
- FIXED pip `python -m pip3 install ...` (wrong syntax) → `python3 -m pip install ...` in 3 places.
- FIXED `pip install -r requirements` (no `.txt`, run twice) → single call with proper fallback.
- FIXED `set_interface_number` being called 3× in a row → now one combined check.
- FIXED `git clone $gitlink` (unquoted) + extra space in fluxion's `gitlink` (`--recursive https://...` → `https://...`).
`rm -r` of the old folder now happens before clone but `git clone` is `|| return 1` so failure is visible.
- FIXED `local VALIDH=0` scoping in `pyrit_hand_check` and `cowpatty_hand_check` (was leaking across calls).
- FIXED `eternalbluerc.rc` injection — unescaped user input → `printf '%q'`-quoted values.
- FIXED `errors_menu` option 6 no longer nukes `/etc/apt/sources.list.d/*`.
Old sources backed up to `/etc/apt/sources.list.lscript.bak`; kali-rolling line is *appended* (not overwritten).
- FIXED `.bashrc` snippet — dropped the `alias l=…` line that conflicted with Ubuntu/Kali `ls`.
PERFORMANCE / CLEANUP
- DE-DUPLICATED 7 back-to-back `pip3 install -r requirements.txt` lines (was 22, now 15 distinct calls).
- Standardised `pip3 install` calls to fall back to `python3 -m pip install --break-system-packages` on modern distros.
NEW TOOLS (modern, actively maintained)
- Nuclei (ProjectDiscovery) — fast vuln scanner with auto-updating templates
- ffuf — fast Go web fuzzer
- RustScan — modern port scanner
- Subfinder — subdomain enum (ProjectDiscovery)
- httpx — HTTP probe / tech fingerprint (ProjectDiscovery)
- Naabu — fast port scan (ProjectDiscovery)
- Ligolo-ng — modern tunneling / pivoting (proxy + agent binaries)
- Kerbrute — AD Kerberos username enum / password spray
- Sherlock — username OSINT (300+ sites)
- Gowitness — web screenshot recon
All installable from the "Other tools" menu (entries 8-17) and from "Reinstall tools".
LOOK-AND-FEEL
- New header banner at the top of `l` with structure / category overview.
- `lh2` and `lh3` got matching header comments describing their purpose.
- "Other tools" menu expanded from 7 → 17 entries (added 10 modern tools).
- Bumped VERSION to 2.2.3.
2.2.2
==== `lazy` launcher command ====
- NEW primary command: **`lazy`** — launches lscript without fighting Ubuntu/Kali `l` = `ls` alias.
- Install copies `/usr/local/bin/lscript/lazy`; `l` still worked for backward compatibility in 2.2.2–2.2.3.
- `~/.bashrc` aliases updated on install/update; README recommends `lazy` first.
- Settings (`lscript.conf.example`), docs, labcheck, and update-kali messages now say **`lazy`**.
- FIXED install update path (`--yes` when already installed) skipped lazy alias — launchers now run on every install/update.
- NEW `/usr/local/bin/lazy` symlink so `lazy` works without relying on `.bashrc` alias alone.
- *Superseded in v2.2.4:* the `l` launcher was removed entirely (it kept
fighting the Ubuntu/Kali `l` = `ls` alias even when an explicit
`alias lazy=...` was set). Use `lazy`.
2.2.1
==== Hotfix: bash syntax + line endings ====
- FIXED `command l` / `syntax error near unexpected token` — lab menu echo quoting in v2.2.0.
- FIXED Windows CRLF line endings breaking bash on Linux/WSL; install.sh strips `\r` on install.
- `.gitattributes` forces LF for shell scripts.
- README troubleshooting updated (CRLF, `l` alias, WSL).
2.2.0
==== Lab / spoof toolkit (training) ====
- NEW `spoof` / `lab` — guided lab menu: DNS spoof, ARP MITM, email spoof, MAC tools, credential viewer, scope editor, audit log, link to full MITM menu.
- NEW `labcheck` — pre-flight checks (root, disclaimer, scope, dnsspoof, arpspoof, macchanger, sslstrip).
- NEW `lib/lscript_lab.sh` — lab scope file, audit log, training banner, IP allow-list for MITM targets.
- NEW `labs/` scripts: `dns_spoof_lab.sh`, `arp_mitm_lab.sh`, `arp_mitm_lab_reverse.sh`, `hosts.lab.example`.
- Lab scope: `settings/lab_scope.txt` — restrict ARP MITM to authorized IPs only.
- Audit log: `logs/lab_audit.log` — records lab actions with timestamp and user.
- Banner shortcuts: `spoof`, `labcheck`, `doctor` on main screen.
- Training / educational use only — see DISCLAIMER.md.
2.1.8
==== Kali system upgrade + attribution ====
- DISCLAIMER: training/educational use only; KDR accepts no liability (see DISCLAIMER.md).
- NEW `update-kali` — full Kali upgrade: apt update, full-upgrade, autoremove, autoclean (from inside `l` or shell alias).
- Aliases: `update-kali`, `updatekali`, `kaliupdate`, `kali-update` (with confirmation); `update-kali-yes` (no prompt).
- Settings menu → 8: run upgrade; → 9: install `update-kali` shell alias to ~/.bashrc.
- Doctor menu → 4: run full system upgrade.
- First install (`install.sh -i`) auto-adds `update-kali` alias to ~/.bashrc.
2.1.7
==== Infrastructure + ops release ====
*New shared libraries (`lib/`):*
- NEW `lscript_term` — unified gnome-terminal / xterm launcher with geometry, title, hold, disown, quiet flags. Used in install, update, handshake (lh1/lh2), WPS (lh3), WEP (lh4), MITM/sslstrip menus.
- NEW `lscript_conf` — loads `settings/lscript.conf` for LPATH, DEFMAC, colors, log limits.
- NEW `lscript_utils` — WSL2 detection, log rotation, profile backup/restore.
*Configuration:*
- NEW `settings/lscript.conf.example` — template for paths, default MAC, ANSI colors, `LOG_ROTATE_MAX_MB`, `HANDSHAKE_MAX_FILES`.
- Config auto-copied to `settings/lscript.conf` on first install.
*Install / automation:*
- NEW `./install.sh --yes` (or `-y`) — non-interactive install for CI/scripts; auto-detects first install vs update.
- Root check and `exit 0` after relocating to `/root/lscript` (fixes double-install bug).
*Doctor (`doctor` / `health`):*
- Checks: sslstrip, iptables, NetworkManager, dsniff/arpspoof, WSL2 + wireless adapter.
- Menu option 3: rotate `doctor.log`, `sslstrip.log`, trim old handshake captures.
*Profiles & backup:*
- Export/import tarball of `settings/`, `profiles/`, `ks/` from profiles menu or commands `pexport`, `pimport`, `backup`, `restore`.
- Quick commands: `rotate` / `rotatelogs` for log housekeeping.
*WSL2:*
- Startup warning when running under WSL2 without a visible WiFi adapter.
*Log rotation:*
- Automatic on each `l` launch (configurable max MB and handshake file count).
*Docs:*
- NEW `FEATURES.md` — full capability reference for GitHub.
2.1.6
==== Major bugfix + new features release ====
*Critical fixes:*
- FIXED lh2: DPID was being written to "/" (root of filesystem) because LPATH wasn't defined yet; handshake-PID tracking is now correct.
- FIXED install_yuki / install_yuki-chan name mismatch (yuki menu was hitting "command not found").
- FIXED missing install_sniffer function (toolarray had 'sniffer' but no installer); now installs netsniff-ng.
- FIXED dead install_objection: objection is now in the toolarray and the installer is functional.
- FIXED settings/ directory being missing on fresh installs (defaults_l now creates it).
- FIXED mitmf_hook: it used to say "No installation added yet" even when install_mitmf existed; it now calls install_mitmf.
- FIXED update_lscript path: was looking in /root/lscriptold/lscript/... for files that actually lived in /root/lscriptold/...
- FIXED install.sh: no more apt-get update, hard gnome-terminal dependency, /bin/lscript vs /usr/local/bin/lscript, repeated PATH export, missing handshakes/WEP and deauth subdirs.
*Modernization (Kali 2020+):*
- FIXED pyrit (removed from Kali 2020.3+): handshake validators now fall back to aircrack-ng / hcxtools.
- FIXED all `service` -> `systemctl` for postgresql/NetworkManager/apache2.
- FIXED `service network-manager` -> `systemctl start NetworkManager` (unit was renamed).
- FIXED all `gnome-terminal -e` (removed since GNOME 3.24) -> `gnome-terminal --`.
- FIXED `leafpad` (removed) -> mousepad/gedit/nano fallback.
- FIXED `msfupdate` (removed) -> `apt-get install --only-upgrade -y metasploit-framework`.
- FIXED OpenVAS install (renamed to GVM in Kali 2021.3+): now installs gvm and uses gvm-start/gvm-stop.
- FIXED msfpc install (removed from repos): falls back to source install.
- FIXED `easy_install pycrypto` -> `pip3 install pycryptodome`.
- FIXED `pip2.7` -> `pip3` everywhere (~30 occurrences).
- FIXED `pip install` -> `pip3 install` everywhere (~30 occurrences).
- FIXED `apt-get pulseaudio` typo (missing 'install') -> `apt-get -y install pulseaudio`.
- FIXED `apt-get install` without `-y` (would hang on prompt) in 3 places.
- FIXED `apt-get install -y open-vm-tools-desktop fuse` to detect hypervisor first.
- FIXED `python2` / `python2.7` calls -> `python3` with fallback.
- FIXED `python setup.py install` -> python3 with fallback.
- FIXED howdoi install (was using `pip2.7`).
*Safety / hardening:*
- FIXED `kill $DPID` to validate PIDs and use `kill -- "$DPID"`.
- FIXED `kill -9 $PPID` (brutal kill) -> SIGTERM with timeout before SIGKILL.
- FIXED `[[ -f "/root/lscript/dpid*.txt" ]]` (glob doesn't expand in [[ -f ]], was always false) -> use compgen -G.
- FIXED `rm /root/lscript/dpid*.txt` quoting.
- FIXED lh21: defined LPATH before use, added PID validation, fixed rm glob, added pyrit fallback.
- FIXED lh31: added -r to read.
- FIXED ls/l13*.sh: added -r to read, error handling for missing dirs, python3.
*Cosmetic / style:*
- Renamed `function nounistall` typo -> `nouninstall` in uninstall.sh.
- Added `read -r` to ~all read calls (where safe).
- Added `mkdir -p` for missing subdirs (handshakes/WEP, handshakes/deauth, profiles, settings).
- install.sh now supports xterm fallback if gnome-terminal is unavailable.
- uninstall.sh now removes /usr/local/bin/lscript, removes PATH export, supports both old and new locations.
- Removed leftover `# set -x` comment.
- Cleaned up function ordering in lh2.
*New features:*
- NEW 'doctor' (or 'health') command: full health-check of lscript — root user, internet, all key tools, deprecation warnings, version check. One-click auto-fix for common problems. Saves a doctor.log report.
- NEW 'refresh' (or 'toolsup') command: git-pulls every installed tool that lives under /root, or pick one.
- NEW 'profiles' (or 'profile') command: save/load/delete named network profiles (BSSID, channel, ESSID) so you can skip the scan+select step on subsequent runs. Type 'psave' / 'pload' for quick one-line use.
- NEW `settings` dir and `profiles` dir are created on install.
- `lscript doctor` reports deprecation issues (pyrit, msfupdate, openvas, leafpad) explicitly with hints.
