Support Root Resource query

Apparently, it is possible to query resources from the root endpoint:

Section 3.4.2.1. Query Endpoints says:

Queries MAY be performed against a SCIM resource object, a type endpoint, or a SCIM server root

(emphasis mine)

Also:

A query against a server root indicates that all resources within the
server SHALL be included, subject to filtering. A filter expression
using "meta.resourceType" MAY be used to restrict results to one or
more specific resource types (to exclude others)

As far as I can see (but I could be wrong), there's no implementation of the root endpoint yet. Is it something that's planned?

I think we missed that in our reading of the spec. I've tweaked the title of the issue to track this as a feature request.

Does the SCIM client you are using support this type of query? If so, which client (or ISP) are you using? That will help us figure out the priority of this issue.

The person who actually brought that up is someone from Univention, they working on their SCIM client there: https://github.com/univention/scim-services/tree/main/scim-client

I told this person about this ticket.

They are currently using this endpoint. Now, I don't know about the support for that endpoint in other SCIM server implementations, if it turns out many are missing it, I suppose they might need to use an alternative strategy.

This SCIM client is quite new / fresh / under development.

It's in the spec, so we need to support it, but...
