      Perspective is an independent publication built around original research (and shorter pieces on whatever fascinates the author) written to be read at whatever depth the reader has time for.

              Most economic writing forces a choice: an oversimplified headline or a paper few people
              will actually open. Perspective tries to remove that trade-off. Every piece of research is
              published at three depths: beginner, intermediate and advanced plus the original document,
              so a reader can go as deep as the question deserves.
            </p>
            <p>
              The site currently does not publish summaries of other people's work or filler content to keep a schedule.
              Everything here is either an original working paper or an original essay.
            </p>

              <p>Conclusions are only as useful as the argument behind them. Mechanisms and assumptions are stated, not hidden behind abstract algebra to complicate discussions .</p>

              <p>Economics problems rarely have a free lunch. Costs, uncertainty and downsides are treated as an equally important part of the answer.</p>

              <p> Academic and opinion pieces are often laborious, and not enjoyable to read. But we know the benefits of reading and understanding new knowledge. So a less time-consuming way to take that knowledge in is always better.
