Upstream and attribution

Origin

  • Upstream project: leset0ng/card-stack
  • Upstream author: leset0ng
  • Upstream license: MIT
  • Reference revision: 349fb16 (0.2.1)
  • Port type: independent native Android rewrite using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose

The original project supplied the component concept, interaction model and visual reference. This repository implements those ideas for Android without embedding the React implementation or using a WebView.

Main Android-specific changes

  • Reimplemented rendering and gesture handling with Jetpack Compose
  • Added Android spring, pose and blur handling
  • Added controlled and uncontrolled index APIs for Compose state
  • Added platform-specific fixes for backward-card promotion and delayed settling
  • Added adaptive short-release cadence to match the feel of a full-height drag
  • Added a native demo with a live tuning panel

Redistribution rules

The MIT license permits use, modification and redistribution, including commercial use. Every redistributed copy or substantial portion must retain the upstream copyright notice and the MIT permission text found in LICENSE.

This repository additionally uses NOTICE and the attribution block in README.md to make the relationship to the upstream project explicit. These files should stay with forks and release archives.

Repository identity

An independent repository named card-stack-android is clearer than presenting this Kotlin rewrite as the original React package. Suggested GitHub metadata:

  • Description: Native Android card stack for Jetpack Compose, derived from leset0ng/card-stack
  • Topics: android, kotlin, jetpack-compose, card-stack, gesture, animation, mit-license
  • License: GitHub should detect MIT from the root LICENSE file

The Android port uses the maintainer-owned namespace io.github.defatestar.cardstack. Upstream URLs and copyright notices continue to use leset0ng for correct attribution.
