Summary

  • 8sync learn trending run with cwd = <project>/su-code (memory dir with its own AGENTS.md) wrote to su-code/su-code/research/trending/. New pure trending_dir(start): a su-code memory dir without .git/manifest belongs to its parent project; a repo literally named su-code stays a normal root; any subfolder resolves to <project>/su-code/research/trending/<date>.md.
  • Reported by the R&D session in UAT of v0.91.0. The second report (exit 2 after a successful write) was not reproduced.

Test plan

  • cargo test -p su-code learn_ 17/17 (new learn_trending_dir_resolves_from_memory_dir_and_subfolders); clippy clean on the file.
  • Debug binary from /home/alexng/startup/su-code resolves to /home/alexng/startup/su-code/research/trending/, exit 0.
  • CI 3 OS on this PR.

Running `8sync learn trending` with cwd = <project>/su-code (the memory dir,
which carries its own AGENTS.md) made root detection stop there and write
su-code/su-code/research/trending/<date>.md. `trending_dir()` now treats a
su-code memory dir without a VCS/manifest of its own as part of its parent
project, keeps a repo literally named su-code as a normal root, and resolves
from any subfolder. Found by the R&D session in UAT of v0.91.0.
